    Thank You @Gardener Lee

Well, we're just back from the Vets. Not long after I posted the previous message, Simmy tried to stand again, and promptly fell over. So off we went. The Vet I saw doesn't think there's any damage to his leg, but we're to go back tomorrow night to see one of the surgeons who specialises in the kind of injury that Simmy has, who will be able to tell if there is anything untoward with his leg. He's home again now, had another shot of painkiller, and will hopefully rest well tonight.

I am now having a very stiff drink. Being at the Vets tonight, which is emergency only on a weekend, was one of the most heartbreaking things I've had to witness. :frown: I am just so thankful that Simmy is home now. xx

It's difficult to see your pets in pain. They become a part of the family ! I hope the drink eases you a little . Fingers crossed everything turns out OK .

Hi @Joolz, I'm so sorry I've got behind with this, Ive been away.
You can post as much as you want about Simmy, we are all behind you & all want him to be back to his normal self. It's so stressful having a poorly cat, you really have both been through so much.
Great news about your holiday deposit being transferred to next year, the lady sounds like a star
How are you feeling today & how is Simmy? :grphg:

Thanks @Lolimac we did thank you. xx

@Beckie76 Ooooo, hope you had a good break chick. Yes, it's wonderful that the lady is holding our deposit for us. It's not often these days that it happens. We're extremeley grateful to her.
Simmy is doing ok today thank you. He's still holding his leg out a tad more than he has been, but he's not crying out when he stands or settles down on his bed, so that's good. Have to battle rush hour traffic in a bit to get to the vets, not looking forward to that! lol..

Now, if Simmy's brother Kip comes back before we head out, I'll relax a bit more. Little so n so had decided to play 'lets hide from mom' :nonofinger:

Awww, bless you @wiseowl. Please, no need to apologise, we all have busy days chick. xxx

Simmy is fine, he had his leg thoroughly checked over and nothing out of the ordinary to report. It could be that he knocked his leg, and coupled with the reduction in painkiller, made it hurt. So we're to keep the painkiller at 3 a day for the forseable future.

@Beckie76 Simmy seems to have a thing going on in the car!! It's all your fault you know... :nonofinger:

I've been reading your Simmy updates Joolz. For some reason, I wasn't getting alerts even though I put the marker in. Still up and down days as Spruce said but Simmy instinctively knows you are doing your very best for him,
please tell him I'm thinking of him and you tonight,

Morning @Beckie76 , so sorry for the lateness of my reply, it's been chaotic here the last week or so...

Simmy is doing fine, thank you chick. He's still on his painkillers, though we've reduced it down to two doses a day now, rather than three. He's coping well at the moment with the drop, so that's good. We've been going for regular checkups at the vets, and they're pleased with his progress.:blue thumb::cat-kittyandsmiley: So, we're off to the hospital side of the vets next Thursday for him to be xrayed again, with a view to removing the external frame, and possibly the internal pin from his leg. This is an early hope, though, and quite possibly he won't be able to have it removed just yet, but the xray will tell all. Fingers crossed on that score. :fingers crossed:

He's still in the pen, and I have to say, he's been absolutely fabulous about being confined for so long. We are able to let him out for 10 mins at a time, a couple of times a day, but we have to watch him like a hawk so that he doesn't try to jump onto anything high. He does love to come out though, and darts about the lounge with gusto! It'll be good when he can go upstairs and have a month or so building his leg strength back up, by jumping onto the beds etc and dashing up the stairs. Hope to have our bathroom finished by the end of next week too, so it should all slot into place well I hope! lol...

He's fast asleep at the moment, after devouring his breakfast. Thankfully he's not put weight on, as he's unable to burn it off, but his appetite is huge atm!

Thank you all so much for your continued good wishes for him. I have no doubt in my mind at all, that all the kind thoughts, and healing vibes have helped to speed up his recovery. xxxxx

Glad to hear he's making such good progress @Joolz! Such a worrying time for you all, but it sounds as though he should be able to cause mischief and mayhem again soon - fantastic news! Though you may not be looking forward to the beds having a light coating of cat hair again :heehee:
