I find that the small programme that I keep my photos in (the one that came with my original camera) resizes things easily.

I click on the photo, click 'Edit', click 'Export' and click 'Export Still images'. then it gives the page for resizing, in pixels.

The 1mb size is under the set limit (albeit only just), so I am at a loss as to why it wouldn't let you upload images just over that size.

Don't mind if I do, thank you

Seriously though, yes it is Marshmallow. I take it you are having similar issues?

The changes have been made to the size restrictions on images being uploaded (both in terms of resolution and file size) to allow vastly increased flexibility. In short, the prior restrictions of 800 x 600 were no longer up to the task of handing images from modern smartphones and tablets (even the cheapest phones are now chucking out images at 2048 x 1536 (equates to 3.1 megapixel). Providing that the image itself was not larger than 1.2mb {the absolute upper limit} then there is no reason that it should have been rejected.

For PC users, the only other suggestions I have (based purely on suspicions/assumptions) are:

          - Use Firefox Browser
          - Have Adobe Flash plug-in installed and up to date
          - Try both methods of uploading, those being the drag'n'drop method and using the 'Upload a File' button below the message textbox.
          - When having difficulties with anything PC based, remember that a considerable number of issues can be resolved by restarting the PC and clearing out browser caches etc (I recommend CCleaner for this).

Failing that, feel free to email me the image and I will see if I can work out what is happening (not a guarantee that I can of course ), and this applies to everyone. PM me if you don't have my email address.

            Thanks FC.
Just find it confusing that up till now I've never had to resize, then when others start saying they cant load pics because it wont accept them I now find myself having to resize also.

Just seems whatever has been done is counterproductive because now 'everyone' has to resize:scratch::biggrin:

Not yet as I'm awaiting a day when I have a few hours to spare for upgrading and checking it out before doing same on Mrs Scrungee's phone [1], but I have read the release notes.

[1] She's getting her Google Navigation occasionally giving directions in an American accent, in MK it happens every time we navigate a certain roundabout, after we've passed it reverts to English accent, turn round and go back and it changes to USA accent, so she's a bit nervous about me doing anything drastic until I've sorted that out.

If you didn't have to resize before, then you shouldn't have to now - the size restrictions for resolution has been set to accept any resolution, and the maximum file size (data) has increased slightly.

I know it sounds strange but it would not accept my pic last night, it said it was too big, that has never happened before.
Might be wrong, but get the impression Shiney has found the same.

As a matter of interest, what are you using to upload @pete? And what browser if it applies?

In all my ten years here I've not had to resize. :dunno:

I've had the same computer for all ten years (upgraded bits of it over the years but not recently) and have been using the same photo storage software all that time and IE 11 since that first came in (previous version of IE before that).

                Yep!

Hmmmmmm..... Perhaps the limitless setting is resulting in some sort of problem. Let me reapply some limits (still high enough to cope with modern kit), and see if that helps.

OK - I have just resized a MASSIVE image (10240 x 6400 res, 38.5mb) which would not upload; I downsized it to 19% of original which made it 2048 x 1280 and 1.03mb. and it uploaded instantly.

All my photos, for the last eight years have been 2048 x 1536 and either 1.4mb or 1.5mb and have downloaded OK. I'll try one now,

                  Nope, it didn't work.

In the past I've been able to download up to 12 of those at a time.

OK - I have just tried a mid-size (so too big for the server in each aspect) and I got the 'too large to process' error as I expected. I am struggling to find an image big enough in only one aspect to see if it will auto resize as I upload.

OK - I have set everything back to the start. The below auto-resized for me, despite being outwith parameters.

@shiney - can you try one of yours again please?
