I finally got round to sowing a few things today including leeks and cabbages. Plenty more to go

@infradig Interesting thought about overwintering peas in the polytunnel. We have one but haven't done peas in it. Maybe this year we will give it a try.

All my peas in the garden have been eaten. Fortunately the ones at the front of the house are doing well. Arch-enemy Mr. Slug!

I made a start on the vegetable garden today. It was still pretty wet and heavy but the broad beans and sugar snap peas that I had sown in pots really needed planting out. I dug in a lot of compost first.

Still so wet and yet the leeks and onions need to be planted out. Hopefully this weekend.

So disappointing @Adam I. Have you changed your mind about slug pellets yet?

Slugageddon down the allotment this morning, removed about fifty from the psb leaves to the compost heap. Also found to three in the greenhouse salads. It's peak greenhouse salads time for me now, everything growing strongly and the Pak choi, komatsuma and mibuna starting to rise to flower

I weeded and dug a bag of compost into the onion bed, then planted red onion sets. I don't grow yellow onions any more, so cheap to buy.

Let us know how they get on @Busy-Lizzie . The last few times I tried red onion sets they were disappointing in both size and flavour.

i've just been down to th epolytunnel to check my babies and a dastardly snail has scoffed half my cavolo nero babies! OH has dealt with the mollusc and i've watered the survivors. All the other seedlings seem to be OK, so far.

Sown the Brussels sprouts today. Four F1 varieties, Brilliant, Brodie, Brendan and Igor. Will aim for 16 of them . I also sowed some more lettuce to plant between them for a few crops as they grow over.

I sowed them two weeks later last year and they didn't get big enough for my liking, so I'm assuming they should do a bit better this year, all things being equal

I also checked all my other recently planted veg that are all under fleece. Apart from the onions they have come through the last few weeks relatively unscathed, but I did apply a fresh batch of slug pellets just in case. They should take off now. The onions just haven't done that well so I'll buy some sets now.

Sowed sweet corn in trays indoors. Also did melons, cucumbers and pumpkins, again all indoors. Had visitors today and tomorrow so hope Tuesday is good so that the leek and onion seedlings can be transplanted out as well as the pea beans which are looking very good.
