You should be able to turn it up, though to be honest I checked it and did some editing with headphones on, will wind it up for the next one.

Sown my winter squash, sweetcorn, Patti pan and some melons. I think I maybe should have started the melons earlier? They are for undercover, variety emir.

Also sown more coriander and dill as the ones I have yet to pick will no doubt bolt fairly soon anyway

Hello everyone very late to the party as usual. Glad to see so many familiar names here.
What a peculiar season we are having, I seem to be further behind than ever. Only got my first early spuds in on Tuesday, the clay soil here in N. London has just been unworkable for ages. I noted the chat about club root I have just taken delivery of a club root resistant collection of brassicas from a well known Veg seed and plant supplier. I have potted them up for now as I haven't had time to re-erect the netted cage I put them in. My greenhouses, one at home, one on the plots, are full to bursting with things I want to plant out but need it to warm up AND DRY OUT!!!

Fertilized the garlic and onions today, the garlic looking a bit yellow from all the rain I think. Four foot since they went in late September for some of them.

Final harvest of PSB and ripped the plants out. They'll be replaced by Brussels sprouts and lettuce in a couple of weeks when they are ready to go out. Outside salads just about ready for first pick.

I only have room to plant a few garlic cloves at the front of the house, but I got them in during the autumn and they seem to be doing well despite the wet, gloomy Spring. I dug in some composted alpaca poo a few weeks before planting. When the garlic comes out, I'll plant some dwarf tomatoes, rooted from side shoots from my established plants.

Meanwhile, the aubergines ( Baby Belle F1, White Caspar and Listada di Gandia) are in the greenhouse in their permanent pots. PXL_20240505_180009954.NIGHT~2.jpg PXL_20240505_175221358.jpg

What an odd year I'm having with my courgettes. They're a variety called Genovese, (from Chiltern seeds) which I've never grown before.
I sowed 6 on 24 April. Not a dicky bird. Not a peep.
Other cucurbits have germinated, plus various beans. Wonder if I have a duff batch.
I have some Tarmino left from last year, which I'll sow, just in case.
I have grown courgettes for the last umpteen years and never had such dismal results.

I've not used Chilterns for a while and only ever used them for plants that were not run of the mill stuff.
I've never bought Veg seed from them, I'd prefer a company that perhaps has a bigger turnover of veg seed,

I've found Chilterns to be OK for veg. This year I've sown garlic kale, cavolo nero and PSB from packets I bought before Brexit made them unavailable to me and I've had excellent germination. They do have some interesting varieties.

I've found and sowed the Tarmino (supposed to be sown year ending 23) and some Rondo (in date). Let's see what happens!

                  Very disappointed with the Genovese.

Planted courgettes 12Apr and only one had come up by 01May, yesterday two more came up? I've used Chiltern a few years now and they have been okay, but started using KingsSeeds of late and been much happier. Ordered Lady Di beans the other day and delivery was superbly quick.

I’ve been using Chilterns for most of my veg seeds for quite a few years now … I’ve neither had a bad batch yet.

@Penny_Forthem it they don’t germinate v soon I’d contact Chilterns and let them know.

Probably the recent hike in temperature has jolted the courgettes. They like consistently warm temperatures
