Thank you, my dearest, thought it might suit your taste ... a bit prehistoric but at the same time mentally calming ... ????

We are out tomorrow (because I need more canvasses) so we plan to go to a couple of art galleries.

Anyone out there got any ideas on prices?

There is no basis on which to charge, as you don't have a recognised name, so charge at least the minimum amount that you would be comfortable with, it is really up to you.

Allowances would have to be made if it is usual to bargain in your area of course!

    Don't under-rate yourself and be confident! ;)

What is the "minimum amount" I would be comfortable with ...

I'm a fool and would take 50 Euros which would be stupid probably.

Have to do this "reccie" tomorrow at some galleries in Albufeira and examine the goods and the "quality" of the goods and take it from there.

I'm trying to be confident and you know I'm trying, I'm trying ...

... watch this space tomorrow ...

Good idea to recce the galleries. Your Aussie ones are your best ones (in my humble opinion) but they might not sell well in Portugal. You could try ebay and see how high they go on auction. Put a reserve of £60 and expect £100 minimum. Even if you don't want to sell on ebay, it will give you an idea of how much people will be willing to pay.

Well, we didn't find one gallery open ... Saturday afternoon.

However, the trip was not a loss. I bought another dozen canvasses and then we went to the DIY shop in the same centre to look at picture framing wood. There was a notice as you entered the shop saying it was closing permanently on 13 March so there were massive discounts. And there were ...

Picture framing wood, all shapes, sizes and colours, from 1/2 inch to 4 inch, plain, gilted, you name it, in three metres lengths was ALL at 1 Euro (60p) per metre ... we bought 30 pieces so 90 metres and could barely get it in our Clio but we did! :D :D :D Here is a small selection ...

Well, this little dead tree lake offering is much darker than the first and I'm not sure I've got the lighting on the lake quite right so may have to do some touchups.

Again, due to my "superb" photography skills, it's darker than the real thing.
