There was one 4kms away believe it or not ... another story ... but not now, my Babe. Must tell you the story about that.

Love your overlays ... absolutely brilliant, Babe. Must copy those for the future ...

My latest strange offering ... A Crete Sunset ...

It's done on a 40x50cm stretched canvass in acrylic. The colour is off somewhat as usual, in reality, it is more subdued ... rather like me ... [IMG]

My dearest roders posted a couple of his holiday pics and I thought I'd be clever with the sunset as I like sunsets, as you know ... ha, was I ever wrong. This was a total trial and a half. I merged the two photos, deleted things, added things, had to visually imagine the horizon on my own but came up with something and my dearest has given me permission to show it to all of you, although I bastardised it like nobody's business.

Actually, I've called it A Crete Sunset ... to be honest, I haven't got a clue what the land is across the water as the picture was taken in Crete!

[IMG] Oh LoL You are a sweetheart, you do love a challenge and this certainly was one,I think the land mass is another bit of Crete and I have to say that is the best water you have ever painted IMHO..............I wouldn't know how accurate it is as this was the view from the restaurant,in the evening and by this time I had drunk half a bottle of Cretan wine.
    Bless You [IMG]

Thank you rosa ... and woo, such lovely comments. [IMG]

My dearest, this was worse than Babe's painting but I'm relatively pleased with the end product. Maybe I should have had a half a bottle of Cretan wine when I was painting! [IMG]

Nice Sis and I like the colours in the water.

The sun and rays remind me of the disk of an old Egyptian headdress with horns on either side, albeit the horns have a different shape. But as you said, you merged things, adding and deleting and have come up with something that would go very well in a Science Fiction.

Oh, Sis, what a mind you have ... I would have never thought of an old Egyptian headdress (although I have an Egyptian bedroom) and with horns (??? ) ... and I wouldn't have put it into the Si Fi category either ... but then again, you and I are night and day, my darling big Sis.
