Thanks Sis, woo (you are so spot on with my moods in painting [IMG] ), DAG and Cutie. xx

Although I like others I do (sometimes), the Aussie ones are still my favourites.

I think the paints are going away till the new year ... unless something very exciting inspires me.

Again, thank you all for the lovely comments.

Cutie, thanks for noticing the Avatar ... it's my real-life Poinsettia in the garden. [IMG] [IMG]

Thanks for the visit, Marley. [IMG]

Encouraged by woo's wildlife photography, I am finishing the year with a "non me" painting ...

    Swan Song ...

It's painted in acrylic on stretched canvas, 18cm x 24cm, and done in a 3D perspective, ie, there is texture to the feathers, rocks and water.

As usual, I see various little alterations now I'm looking at it on the screen.

Hi Lol Yes you have Triumphed once again, the Texture of the Feathers is perfect, and the Positioning of the Swans in the frame is just right in context with the Foreground Shore, and the Mood the Painting Depicts is a mixture of Happiness and Contentment(like Two close Friends meeting again). Sorry about that Lol got carried away a bit But I do with art,.Well done [IMG] [IMG]

Thank you, woo ... I wasn't sure you'd like the white swan which was your brown baby swan I made grown up ... ... a bit like I did BM's elephant. [IMG]

I love your analogy of two close friends meeting again ... it does look like that actually, rather shy. [IMG]

I do have to do some touch ups on my swans beak though. You can actually "touch" the feathers as the acrylic is quite built up ... another thing I'm experimenting with.

Correction ... I did BM's ele a baby, it was a grown up. [IMG]

Oh that's a nice little painting LOL! [IMG]

Fits together nicely, and I particularly like the head and neck of the white swan, well done! [IMG]

Thanks, DAG. I've done some alterations to the black swan which I think is an improvement ... plus gave them feet (well, one each)!

Hi, Whiley. Thanks. I really only started painting a year ago with the encouragement of GC folk as you can see by this thread. We all wondered what to do in the winter last year and several of us decided to take up old hobbies we had done in the past. I'm loving it. [IMG]

You have such a talent as well and you should pursue it. I think you're just doing sketches at the moment from what I've seen, but if you want to go further, I'll certainly encourage you and direct you to a link to sell ... but it will have to be on a professional basis.

If you want to talk about it, contact me by e-mail or through my website listed below.
