This was the first wall art painting I did a few years ago. I then decided just the sea was more soothing to look at but is now suffering with sun fade so I must get out there and do a touch up on it.

Just seen this thread LOL, lovely, I like them all, and I mean that!

Particularly like the Village in the Snow, well handled I thought, and Mount Fuji looks splendid and has lovely colouring.

Yes everyone a winner, you should keep going! ;)

I've put this up in Scotkat's thread but thought it should go in my Leisure section so everyone can see what I get up to over here! 'D

These are the tops I crocheted last year using cotton thread, the first time I've tried it. They are sitting on a bedspread I made and in the top left-hand corner there is an afghan I made, both with acrylic yarn. All of these were done without patterns ... just made it all up as I went along! [IMG]

Sorry, the light isn't good but we're having a wonderful rainy afternoon and we don't have overhead lights in the bedroom, just a fan ... for those warm, sultry nights!

I like crafts of all types so having re-covered our dining chairs I jumped in with both feet and stripped down this Victorian dressing screen and recovered it with this Jacobean print with a sage green on green tiny print on the back. The edges are done in sage green braid.

Quilting is one thing I've never attempted, Rosa, but admire people who do it because it's so fiddly ....

The lady buying our apartment on the IoW quilts, some beauts too! As you know, it's a big American thing and she has a couple of properties in Florida and learned how to do it when her ex was golfing!

I did it also its easier than you think iff you use large squares it is quicker, you use over stitch, have a try you will be suprised.
yes quilting is very american, I told my friend she should sell hers on an american site and could make good money for them

    I've been busy today re-working a painting I started in 1977, yes, that's almost 30 years ago.

    Here is the original ...

... and this is how far I got today ...

I'd like honest opinions / critiques please, good or bad because this is a new type of painting for me.

    Many thanks.

    The seascape:

I think you are asking for guidance, I am just trying to be subjective.

This is just my opinion........ In the original picture the sky looks a
bit dull, you have now brightened it up, but I feel it needs a bit more
    working on.

You have lit up those rocks on the right well enough and I like that,
which although was in the original looks much better now as the sky is
    brighter.

The sand is a better colour generally and more convincing.

The most noticeable thing is that the horizon has disappeared and this
has reduced the feeling of depth/perspective and the clouds look too
strong in colour to me, making the sky heavy and further reducing depth.

A bit more work is required, keep going!

    Well done LOL! [IMG] [IMG]
