Good morning (just about) walnut and woo. [IMG] Thank you for the link walnut, very nice, and both of you for your nice comments.

I had planned to do a Screech Owl as we are surrounded by them here but my photo wasn't very good and I think Barn Owls are the cutest anyway. It didn't enter my head that Barn Owls live in barns and not trees [IMG] [IMG] ... I was too busy pondering on the fact that a brown owl will disappear in a brown tree. [IMG]

Now I'm wondering if I should change the tree to some clapboard and straw?

Thank you Pal. [IMG] I wish I could paint too ... I lose both plot and direction often [IMG] and now walnut and woo seem to think I need to go into the wildlife arena and I can't do detail worth a s**t.

All my work can be seen on the site in my signature ... I say "all" ... I keep finding things I've forgotten about ... definite dizzy blonde.

I should finish the little owl tomorrow so I'll post him them ... not in the post but on GC that is. [IMG]

Don't underestimate yourself LoL I think they are brill and I loved the swans, showing you that site was to show how on the picture of the barn owl hovering over the grassland it was the background landscape(something you excell at) that is the dominant feature the detail (which you worry about) on the owl is not as pronounced nor as important as the overall picture, also the pencil sketches of the owl build up are fascinating, looking forward to your picture tomorrow and if you keep running your efforts down I will be over there and sort you out, I wish I had your ability to paint.

You are a great encouragement walnut. Thank you too Cutie. [IMG] It just can be so frustrating at times. In saying that, it can be even more frustrating photographing them. :D

Well, here he is then ... Little Lost Owl ... he's lost because he's a Barn Owl in a tree. :D But I think he's cute.

He's painted in acrylics on an 18cm x 24cm stretched canvas.

I have another blanked out but am waiting for some inspiration to hit me at the moment. [IMG]

[IMG] Thank you woo and walnut for your kind words and encouragement. [IMG]

I couldn't help myself and did another sunset. This is my interpretation of a sunset behind the house from photos I took in October.

    Sunset from the Deck

This is one of my small ones, 18cm x 24cm, acrylics on stretched canvas.

I bought more paints and canvasses on Saturday and I think I want to try experimenting with 3D images ... know, like they do with 3D sidewalk art. The good thing about acrylic on canvas is that, if you don't like it, you can paint over it ... as I've done with the one above.

Thank you walnut ... couldn't grasp the depth perception in sidewalk art (but I won't give up).

So I've done Paradise instead ...

It's in acrylic on one of these new 30cm x 40cm stretched canvasses that don't need frames.

Thank you, Cutie ... this is NOT the 3D I was going to do! :D I'm quite pleased with it ... it's a "play" on the wall art I have in the outdoor dining area.

Must start reading again soon and stop painting although I have a few new "venues" I'm investigating for my paintings here. [IMG]
