Thank you one and all. It is exciting, I must admit.

I wanted to get back into stained leaded glass (another failed project with me) but looks like the paint and brushes stay out for a while longer! [IMG]

As I have been away all afternoon, I have not finished my painting ... [IMG]

So, I thought I'd show you some photography I did years ago. I have had the photos blown up onto canvasboard.

The top picture is the Gower Peninsula in Wales near where I was born.

The bottom picture is the West Coast of Portugal.

I would love to paint both but I think I'm completely off seascapes at the moment and don't think I could cope with the fences on the first!

It is a lovely place, wildflower. On this occasion we were there for my birthday/our anniveray (same day) and it was about noon-ish ... there's nobody on the beach!

We looked to buy on Angesey but went for the IoW instead because it was nearer the ferries to here.

I will get back into the glass art .. a lovely craft, but I've had some problems with it. I'll come back to this sometime and maybe you can help out. I was using lead as well, both liquid and strip.

Their are some glass painting designs to download here..i am not in your league of using strips my glass painting amounts to daubing it on and swirling patterns on..

Thanks, wildflower .. I'll come back to you on this.

I've actually now worked on my painting for another hour this evening and I've decided enough is enough. T'other half likes it ... after 30 years I'm still not sure ...

As you all know, the colour doesn't come out true and this looks very dark to me .. when I put it into my iPlus4 whatever I can lighten things but apparently the pixels go pixelated as I then do so this is the last time you'll see this ..

I have to say, this looks horrid ... everything is too dark, the sand is supposed to be (and is in my painting) a light colour ...

Thanks, rosa, my darling. This has been 30 years of hard work I haven't got right ... because I still don't think it's right and never will be right to me. One of life's tragedies, I guess! [IMG]

Well done LOL, I think that is good, you should be pleased with it, there will always be paintings that you agonize over, I think these are probably best to keep for when you get another similar pic to do, and you can look back and see how you handled it!

Actually I quite like the sand as it appears here, a lighter coloured sand would make the sky look even darker!

Just my opinion, but I think Pastel or Acylic are the worst for doing sky's as they are a bit heavy!

Might also be worth considering using watercolour, especially regarding the storage problems.

To keep you going, may I suggest you do the Gower Pen. and take out the fences as they do not contribute anything of beauty, and use that as an oportunity to add something of your own to create forground interest.

I would not consider doing the West coast of Portugal, as there is too much 'sameness' about it, which is probably best left as a photograph.

Whatever you do, don't stop now! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Thanks, DAG, points noted.

I actually started an Australian bush painting today. As I usually stand whilst painting, it was okay with my back problem encountered today. Should be finished with it tomorrow ... there's the difference from the seascape ... from 30 years down to two days! [IMG]
