I was tasked with removing the summer bedding and replacing with Wallflowers shortly afterwards every year between my teens (helping my increasingly disabled father who grew them from seed) up until my widowed mother died, who insisted on me continuing to source plants from local shops/markets/boot sales in following years.

After my Mother had her first stroke, she called them 'weasels', and I took pride in continuing to provide a vibrant and fragrant display, probably the best front garden in her street.
