WOW! Excellent . Go to the top of the class.[IMG] It 'ain't the answer I have on my crib sheet but it is correct nevertheless. Do you fancy staying awake all night Rumplestiltskin, to try and get the example I have. It is in the same idiom,

To try to keep the discussion about profanity and gender going, I take the liberty to quote the last question from Madahhlia:

And the last reflection in response to it:

If anyone else has anything to add...

I agree with you but there will always be a disparity between what 'society' and the individual thinks should be forbidden - and the circumstances in which they are uttered make an enormous difference.

I think that, nowadays, there is more of a taboo for words in reference to 'discrimination' than there is to words about sex, and the use of profanities (about religion) are even more acceptable now.

There is no doubt that, in this country, discrimination laws have made people uncertain whether they can use words and phrases that they think are not, or should not be, offensive. This, has also been affected by over enthusiastic use of 'Politically Correct' interpretations.

Unfortunately, problems have arisen because context and delivery have not been taken into account. Comedians are finding this a particular problem.

He's an author and wrote that, in a fuller version, in a book (Flowers for Algernon) - in the fifties, I think :dbgrtmb:

Thank you Shiney. You are an obviously well read owl. I fall asleep trying to read so I prefer pottering in the garden.
