Want to have a go at propagating seed!

    I seem to have had a bit of Damping off of some of the seeds I propagated!! :(

    Have you used it before?

    I know exactly why i have damping off! as i'm new to propagating I have been doing the following:
    1.Spraying the surface of the compost with water a couple of times a day.
    2. keeping the air vents closed
    3. watering from the top!

    DOH!!!

    after doing a bit or research I have found that these are sure fire ways of promotong fungal infection!
    A change of ways is in line me thinks!

    I might have a go at the Cheshunt compound though. Aparently sand on the surface is a good preventative measure as well as camomile tea.

    I think I might start a new thread on Damping off!
