We have got a trailer we can borrow, however we are not quite sure it is up to the weight!!! [IMG]

I thought about wheelie bins but we need to get them in and out of the van/trailer. [IMG]

I think the strong bags might be the best answer as they could be lifted into the van and out the other end. I am off to find some shortly... I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks again for all the help and ideas [IMG]

30 rubble sacks, 1 wheelbarrow, 1 van and 2 tired (and very wet) people later and it's moved!! [IMG]

Now all we have to do is finish leveling the mud, put down the sand, lay the patio, put the gravel round the edge and we'll have somewhere to sit this summer :D

Thanks again for all the help [IMG]

Tesco (as I was going there anyway!) they work out slightly cheaper in B&Q but by the time you've added petrol and time it was easier to buy them in tesco whilst there :D

As mentioned, the trick with rubble sacks is not to overfill also, keep as dry as possible once they've been loaded. There is a tremendous difference in the weight of saturated sand or compost compared to stuff that's reasonably dry. Half fill the bag, fold the top over and protect from rain with a poly sheet covering the stack, that way they don't fill up with rainwater.

Best thing I 've ever bought for shifting bags of sand, compost, slabs, garden planters, tree stumps and railway sleepers (!) is a sack trolly - about £15 from Focus.
