Thanks Kandy, I seem to have misread your post, I thought you were talking about pop ups generally, not had that problem on GC with instant gremlins, one for the Webmaster perhaps?

 

Dag I see you are here so have just logged on.I've just tried the website address on Paladin's It's official thread and the pop up comes up on the right of the screen and blocks me being able to accsess the website.
It happened on another forum last night.It is a mystery why it is starting to happen.

Any help would be appreciated though I should have thought you would have wanted a rest from computer problems

 

Kandy, looks like I was right the first time!

Sounds as if you need a pop up blocker, check through your security settings and see if you can find it and ENABLE it.

 

Kandy, try TOOLS, OPTIONS, CONENT TAB, and tick the 'block popup windows' box

 

no joy Dag.When I go onto content,there is nothing about pop ups.When I click on the X on the pop up,then it takes me to the website I am looking for.
We have a box that says popups ok.When I click on this it says 11 blocked

 

So are you saying that you get a pop up to say that the pop ups have been blocked?

 

Dag.Mr Kandy says we don't want a pop up blocker.That is something we are trying to get rid of.He has tried again,but we still cannot get rid of it when it pops up in the corner after trying to get on to a website it takes us to it,but only afetr we press on the X in the corner or clicked on view.
I feel like I have already said all this before.

Have you read the verse from Liz in Tina RIP?It had me bawling again.No wonder my eyes are so sore.

 

If you are trying to remove an adware programme of somekind, are you removing it in ADD/REMOVE, control panel?

YES.If I was to click on your avatar to read your profile,then the little popup would popup and stop the computer doing it's job and letting me see yours or any ones else's profile or any other website.

Good job we haven't got a shuttle waiting on the launch pad as when we went for lift off a popup would come up or else it would say...This page cannot be displayed.I feel like hitting my head on a brick wall.I cannot even do gremlins anymore BOO HOO

 

Mr Kandy has fixed it. He uninstalled the Google Toolbar! He remembered it gave them a lot of problems at work and had to be removed.

Thanks for all your help Dag.See you are not such a bad old Sugar Daddy Hang on a minute just went to get on gremlins and a popup blocker message popped up.

 

Have you tried doing a restore to an earlier time before this all started?

 

No we haven't

 

Dag thanks for your help.We may have cured it with Mr Kandy trying everything.Nice to know there are people on here that acn help.Much obliged.

PS Mr Kandy has disabled the Yahoo tool bar.Does that make sense?

 

Yes, can't do any harm, I don't have a Yahoo toolbar, maybe there is a pop up blocker in that that is causing you the trouble!
