Wasps...

Something to watch in the 'interval':




Now the serious bit - what makes using petrol really dangerous is that it evaporates rapidly if used in hot weather, so when you go to light the stuff you'll get a massive fireball that will take your eyebrows off, or worse, probably lighting any spilt on the ground/yourself or even reaching your fuel can.

 

If its wasps, then they are usually not a problem if you dont disturb them.
Trouble usually starts in sept or oct, when they get drunk on rotting fruit and start looking for someone to sting.

Do check and make sure its not wild bees.

I think wasps as a whole get a bad press, when actually in this country it's the one species of wasp that is the problem (maybe two), and that is Vespula vulgaris. There are other waps such as parasitic wasps, and other wasps which are beneficial to the garden is that they attack the slugs and snails, and aphids that cause gardening hell..

I saw a para wasp today actually!

In general evolution has only evolved Vespula vulgaris and V. germanica's ovipositors into stinging implements (there are a few others of course)

 

I can see somone getting seriously burned
