We must Never give in to Terrorists...

When I was a kid, one time a bigger kid punched me in the face.Now I am quite a big bloke. I'm quite physically tough, and with some martial arts training to my name, I'm very capable of punching people in the face. I think we'll all agree that it would be very, very wrong and unforgivable if I were to walk down the street and punch some innocent kid in the face just because years ago someone punched my face.

Most terrorists haven't had family killed by British or allied soldiers. They are just scum that want to be part of a "cause" and enjoy hurting innocent people.

But let's assume for just a moment that you're right, they have relatives that were killed by British or allied military action. Then surely their beef is with the government and army, in which case, if they weren't spineless weasels, they would put on a uniform that clearly identified them as soldiers and not civilians, and they would fight within international rules of engagement, which since just after ww2, expressly forbids blowing up innocent men, women and children, people's mothers, people's children, people's best friends, who have never in any way threatened the people that wish them harm.

Forgiveness can never work on the kind of people that think it's ok to chop the head off a wagon driver that was actually trying to help thevery people that murdered him. It won't work on people that think it is ok to rape children, as long as they class them as infidels. Forgiveness will only serve to show their would be followers thatwe are soft and an easy target.

These people are not nice. They are not reasonable. How do you reason with someone that believes paradise full of virgins awaits them if they blow themselves up taking as many innocent people as possible with them?

The solution is to break them. Both by destroying their twisted ideology, and by breaking them physically, ideally before they break any more innocent families.

 

Even if I do not personally believe that most terrorists are victims of losing a family member from a western country, lets assume for a moment that it is. If part of all religions is to forgive, then surely they should be the ones to forgive, rather than retaliating?

At present, Britain, Belgium, France etc. have been restrained in regards these attacks. But how long can we continue to be so? People can only be pushed so far before they will retaliate - we only need to look back at history to know that.

I certainly do not advocate retaliation other than through the courts, and other legal means. Having said that, sooner or later a minority will retaliate. Things will then escalate to a point none of us want to be at.
