Cotswold person myself too. Wish I lived up there again and not here looking up at 'em.
Still, the footpath through my garden links up with the Cotswold Way so I'm just minutes away.
The folk here describe the village as being in the Cotswolds but that's purely for tourism.I don't accept that hence my location tag.

[IMG] Well we have a light covering of snow at the moment, it is still falling but very fine stuff. Damned cold though still. We shall have to see what the morning brings. I think that is the problem at the moment it is still to cold. No wind to speak of either yet..
[IMG] I have lived here for 29yrs, but have never been that far away really. Am a Hampshire person by birth, grew up around the New Forrest area & although when I go back there & visit I have a strong sense of being, it is not the same as the feelings I have for here, this is my home now & can't really see myself moving now either. Too many ties... :D
You get the chance to do work in the cotswolds from what I remember & as you say you are not far. Ever invisage moving back? ;)

Tomorrow is gonna be real interesting as the warm front comes in - whilst it shouldn't last, gonna have my camera ready :D .

I remember what happened vice versa last year. Cold front came in and met a warm front right over Beds and Bucks - rain washed away the salt and grit, then it froze, and then the snow fell - and boy did it fall. Took me two hours to do a 6 mile journey - and even then had to leave the car in a pub car park and walk through the snow. Chaos for two days.

Blimey..you folk have had some snow! I thought we would get some and was quite happy that I didn't have to leave the house due to a weeks holiday.Probably get buried in the stuff when it's time to go back!!
Marley, I live about 6 miles from the village I was born in. Don't think I could afford the house prices there now, mind you we live on the western outskirts of this big village on the B4632 and it's not too bad.As I said..just a short walk and I'm up in the clouds, which looks at the moment to be very heavy up there

[IMG] Hi all, looks like we got off very lightly here. It is just very wet & cold here. Hasn't stopped raining in the last 4hrs now. The sky is so grey & heavy looking now.
Well Paladin looks like we are not that far away from each other... [IMG] I know what you mean about the house prices, they are way high round here too. Plus there has been far too much building of new houses for my liking, but they aren't starter types so the kids all have to move away... some come back, who can afford the prices but not that many. Shame really as the village is turning into a "village of townies", it's strange really. We all get on, but the ideas are so different now. Sorry if any offence taken there, but it is true... I have lived in the country for just about all of my life. Avoiding towns & cities wherever possible... Think I had better shut up now before I say something else..... Sorry all no offence mean't. We all live where we want to live.. [IMG] confused: [IMG]

Drove to work in a blizzard this morning, the wind has been blowing and snow is blowing off the fields onto the road and helped by the blizzard it's building up quite nicely.

Should be an interesting drive home tonight, it's 11:30 now and it's still snowing.

Been blowing a blizzard here most of the morning but they say it's going to turn to rain later - hooray! [IMG]

P.S. Just an added note- it has been raining here since about 4 p.m. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Complete anti-climax here. When I got up, the wind had moved to the south east, it was mild and it was raining. The last of the snow from before was washed away by mid morning, and then it rained most of the day.

Not sure how that occurred at all - but hey I ain't complaining :D

Snow almost gone here except a few bits round the edges.

Is anyone a long-range weather forecaster - are we going to get any more snow this winter??
