    So they do grow back again even if the weather kills it?

    Cordylines can recover if their roots haven't been frozen and killed @Cardiff Garden, depending on the variety and hardiness rating. The new shoots will appear either from the base of the trunk or higher up if the trunk has been cut to remove any damage. You can either leave the plant in the ground over winter and use a combination of fleece to protect the top growth and a thick mulch at the base to protect the roots, or lift it and put it in a container to store in a frost free location over winter.
