Weeds in pots

    It is a sad fact of life that where there is soil, weeds will grow. No matter where the soil happens to be, on a roof, in a container or in a garden.

    it amazes me that some plants grow in soil but some require specific level of pH, light , nutrients etc

    mind you its a bit like humans , some humans think they live in the most awful country on earth with a corrupt blonde haired dictator :runforhills:
    but others are thinking its a paradise where hey will flourish :spinning:

    But if that were not the case, wouldn't life on earth pretty much come to a standstill?

    Hairy bittercress will grow in a bucket of builder's sand or a bucket of water. Buddleia will grow out of the cement between bricks in a chimney stack. Ivy leav(f?)ed toadflax will grow in a small heap of dry dust.

    I have identified my pretty orange flower as Cosmos "Bright Lights". I did grow these last year but they were tiny and nowhere near as impressive.
