    I for one think that's lovely @Linz .
I grow a lot of annuals like Cornflowers, Field Poppies, annual Lupins, Scabious and Corn Cockle which i suppose some people would class as weeds.

And as for not fitting in with cultivated Hybrids that's rubbish.
This year i had cornflowers and Field Poppies as gap fillers between my herbaceous in the borders.

And I bet it looked stunning @KFF
Absolutely love cornflowers, they are the first weeds, I mean, flowers I grew! :) I had a rogue seed in the packet (centaurea montana) and I was ecstatic to find it came back the following year.. I still have it 5 years later and has made a few good clumps :)

                  :wow:

Must get that! Been looking at it online as I've never heard of it, and it's also known as Pretty Face or Ithuriel's Spear. Not just good looking, then, got gorgeous names too. Thanks all for the info :love30:

I understand the need for excessive control on Bindweed & Ground elder etc but dandelions, daises & a few others will have a place in my mixed lawn forever. The episode on how much bees prefer native species & dandelions were at the top encouraged me to allow them to flower and delay a mowing for a week or two. The lawn was alive with the sound of bees feeding & I couldn't bring myself to do it. I understand we all have different preferences when it comes to gardening & it's styles but I personally find helping a statistically struggling creature much more important and satisfying :noidea:especially as they work tirelessly to reward us with seeds, fruits & vegetables in return.

I actually like Bindweed and it's flowers so I allow it to grow down in the South East corner and just keep it under control. I allow the rear lawn to grow to ankle deep before I mow it, it's like that now:heehee:, as it helps Beetles and other insects..........well, that's my story:dunno::heehee:
