hello everyone, could anyone tell me if i should cut this viburnum back now or is it too late?sorry about the poor quality.there doesnt seem to be any new buds at all but the main stem looks healthy enough.it flowers towards the back end of the year so woundering if it will have enough time to re-establish if i do it now.i tidied only the bottom of it up a few weeks ago to give whats next to it a chance and think i might have killed it.thanks in advance Elaine.

Are you sure that is a viburnum Elaine - its like no other I've seen before.

Whatever - I can see no problem with pruning out stems that are clearly dead i.e. dry and brown, with no hint of green, or bud.

Hi Fran,i think it`s a viburnum but not certain.i did describe it once on here (but without photo no one could be sure)it has lots of clusters of small white flowers but no scent.i did look it up and got a match which said it was a member of the honeysuckle family?anyway thanks for advice,i`ll have a go at it tomorrow.

Thanks Dave W, as it's on here now, this is one of last years Fuchsia cuttings that's decided to flower already! Should I remove the flower for the sake of the plant, or don't it matter?

I would leave it and enjoy it Dag, there is plenty of growth coming and it won't really benefit by taking it off. A nice single, do you know what variety? [IMG]

Thanks Strony, not sure, was given to me by an ex neighbour about 5 years ago, very hardy, dug it up last September and planted it elsewhere - so took some cuttings off. Got a feeling its Mrs Popple?

Could be, it's one I haven't got. As it was planted outside I presume it is a bush, not a trailer.
