Thx for the Welcome Marley Farley

We are absolute beginners moving out from the city so to speak from a 2 bedroom starter home with a litlle lawn. To a more suburb style house which is a semi with front garden and what will be a drive.

The back garden is about 30ft x 20ft it is basically concreted and has no borders or lawn (yet) and has a large shed with a green house (run down) and a cold frame (run down).

My better half (Jules) wants the world conservatory decking area lawn one shed seperate love seat area. A pond trees etc and we have absolutley no experience.

    Soooooo where do we start...

p.s. we love photography so in a few weeks when we move in we will take pics and get all the feed back and help we can

    Thanks

    Dave & Jules

    [IMG] Hi Dave & Jules,
Well prety much the same as most of us then when we first get our gardens..... :D I would use this time until you move in deciding how much work you want to do when it is finished. So do you want a very low maintainence garden that you can just sit in & not much work??? Have a look at these links
    http://www.livingit.com/gardening/
    http://www.applegategardens.co.uk/
See if there is any information that might help there. Go to your Library & get some books out. It does sound though like there is allot of prep work to be done. You might need to decide whether you need outside help to clear it first, or whether you both want to do all the work yourselves. Then really think where you want to position Consevaertoery & Patio. Which way does the sun move round etc. Then where to put borders if you want them or pots. So plenty to think about before you start work...... :D :D

    Hi All,

It`s nice to find a really good gardening forum.

I`ve done some gardening over the years, but i`m still a relative beginner.

My latest project is a homemade greenhouse, hopefully i`ll finish building it this season and get a chance to test it out.

I expect i`ll be checking the greenhouse section quite a bit to hopefully glean valuable info from the more experienced gh gardeners.

    Best regards to all
    Hex
