No, nothing. As Pete has a grand marnier Brug, am hoping he may be able to give me some advice.

Sorry, no food for Blaze I’m afraid.

I once grew brugsmania ...in the garden and in a large pot by the pool. For 2 years it was attacked by caterpillars then aphids. The fact that it is also a highly toxic plant ......to humans, dogs, cats.......made me generously give my plants away. A poisonous plant by the poolis a big no no.:)

There were no dead slugs in the brug pots this morning :blue thumb: but I did move them to another part of the garden

I'm not convinced its slugs?snails, RSM are pretty much undetectable unless you know what you are looking for, fine webbing usually means they are well established, it is not always visible, and unless your eyesight is 20 20 they are pretty hard to spot

Ok, so would you treat as though it is RSM? I can't see any signs of bugs or eggs, even with my specs on.

I also don't have any similar problems with any other plants and the Grand Marnier at the other end of the garden is fine, although small.

Personally I would, I've seen that kind of damage before, and what have you got to lose.

@pete do you have any idea what these are as they are under the leaves on the Brug? Could one of these be the culprit?

Had a really close look at my Brugs, they have a bit of damage each year but now growing strongly I nip off the affected leaves and it doesn't seem to bother the plant much. Your issue is a lot more severe, so I had a look at the underside of a few leaves and there are all sorts of bugs - flies, tiny caterpillars and these white spiders. I could only see them by bringing the leaves indoors and using a magnifying glass, after a while they started to move and were easier to see. I think that's what nibble my leaves, could be RSM but I have no webbing.

              Apologies for dirty fingernail :)

PS: they are very difficult to see even with reading specs, on the leaf they are well hidden until they start moving.

:yikes: At that size I wouldn't even see them. I'll see if I can get a magnifying glass at the Pound Shop. I got hubby to blast the leaves with the sprinkler this morning. :snorky:

I got a magnifying glass and I was out inspecting the leaves on the Brugs with it at 6.00am this morning and there was no signs of anything on them other than what looked to be white fly - looked like tiny white dashes ( - ) which I flicked off. There was no RSM or any eggs  but the Brugs still don't look happy.
