I've just come in from gardening as it's too hot :sunny:. At 10.30 it had hit 83.7F and the flying ants are out.

I'l go out again a bit later and do some lawn edging in the shade.

Yes there's loads of irritating little flies here too, you can hardly see them but they don't half make you itch....

Massive amount of flying ants about this morning, the sparrows were picking them off at will

Again far too hot for me in the garden, gave most of it good soaking last night and watered the pots this morning at 5am (it was lovely then :D).

Roll on a good thunderstorm, can't wait :yess:

I was giving evil looks to all the women going to work in their floaty/ short dresses and gladiator sandals today.

We're on site today, so its steel toe caps, smart trews and crisp white shirts for us. I get treated very much as one of the boys and I really cant abuse that, by showing up in florals and flip flops when they cant.

I dont think in general British men dress well for the sun - both business and casual wear. I saw some horrors on the way into the office this morning!
That said, I dont think I want to around when these become de rigeur for the corporate office drone:

Whats wrong with light coloured tailored trews and a light, open necked shirt? Men folk of Britain, why is that so hard to do?

Melinda, you definitely wouldn't want to see what I'm walking about in :heehee:. I'm very comfortable at home :dbgrtmb:.

91.2F out there now. Flying ants have gone and thunder bugs are about.

If it can be of any consolation, Icelandic men don't know much how to dress or behave in the sun either...

But having said that I don't think that men should keep themselves covered at all...

Fjalar, one of our masseurs is Icelandic. He lives in shorts 365 days.
He wears factor 60 head to toe and remains the colour of milk even when the whole team is dark enough to pass for mixed race.

He once forgot to cover his nose and it went beetroot in just an hour. We still call him Rudolph.
