      GCQ- its stifling here.

If you're coming down on the train- take some bottled water with you. Its incredibly humid in London. Sticky and muggy like Florida or the Caribbean.

Just had a conversation with my sister and she said it was unbearable on the tube this morning, and there were faintings on on her Central Line train.

      Keep hydrated people!

It clouded over here just after dinner and stayed that way for about 3 hours, going quite dark at one point with a few heavy spots of rain, but alas it's cleared and it's now wall to wall sunshine again and unbearably hot even at nearly 7pm.......:phew:

The forecast thoug is for some very "lively" thunderstorms tonight between midnight and 3 o'clock tomorrow morning and then getting cooler tomorrow, just 20 degrees - bring it on....PLEASE :D

31° here today, very hot and humid at work. As a full time gardener I do enjoy my job, but this weather can be a bit much when you're out working in the heat all day.:phew:
We usually find a few jobs in the shadier parts of the garden on days like this, but by the afternoon it was even hot in the shade!
While I'm having a moan, why do people who work indoors all the time tend to walk past and say "Ooh aren't you lucky, working outside all day in this lovely weather?" :gaagh:

Still, the day wasn't all bad. My boss surprised me by giving me two free tickets for the England v Sri Lanka cricket at the Oval tomorrow, as he can't make it and he didn't want to waste the tickets! :yahoo:

Thing is, I love an intense dry heat. Ive done desert treks and felt fine.

Its humidity that wrecks my day. It saps your energy, especially when you're doing something strenuous- every thing becomes harder by several orders of magnitude.
Plus I cant abide feeling sticky.

Ive got friends competing from Wednesday this week, and we're all hoping for much lower humidity than today, or its going to be punishing.

I agree with Melinda, being a selfemployed gardener I would much rather work in a hot, dry atmosphere. Humid weather really saps your energy.

All I'm saying is you wont get HOT weather in the UK without humidity, it just dont happen.

In soggy Devon, which is just a kick in the a r s e away from S. Wales.
