I have planted out some Phalaris that I moved into a pot recently and washed about 4 buckets of stones. I have also done thinking ... about what needs doing. :)

Planted out my beetroot seedlings. Watered all the other seedlings. Cleaned the big tubs I have for dunking newly potted plants in the veg plot work area, cleaned out the chooks' water pot and even rinsed out all the emptied seed trays while I had the hosepipe plugged in.

Checked progress and we now have grass growing at that baby beard fuzzy stage and some potatoes coming thru. Garlic and shallots looking very good.

Lovely and warm and sunny out there so next stop is a cuppa on the terrace before I start cooking dinner.

I’ve done a lot of sitting in the garden today. In my defence, like @ViewAhead I was doing some thinking about what to do as well

That's it, no more spending, especially on compost. I mean it this time! Finito! Springtime in the garden is so expensive. Hoping to cut back somewhat now until the Autumn.

Had a final delivery (of the season) of 300L of compost. That should fill the hanging baskets, 6 buckets used for growing toms, and to top Charlotte potatoes growing in bags..

Planted a dozen or so climbing French bean seedlings.

Put up a net tunnel on one of the beds as I'm sure a cat has been visiting. Our big footed dog took it upon himself to investigate by jumping on the tender carrots, onions, mini sweetcorn growing in the raised bed. The tunnel will put a stop any shenanigans.

The garden's really enjoying the sunshine, as we are.

Just watered the 25 blueberries in pots, all of the polyanthus around the path, 3 tubs of spring bulbs and a lot of large pots. Watered the seedlings and young plants.

I watered my newly planted plants and spent an hour in the afternoon sitting with OH in the sun watching the acting of the birds.
The tits are still busy with flying in and out of their titbox, starlings seized the chance of having a bath, a finch enjoyed clinging to a bamboo pole which I added to the bed for exactly that reason, before it flew into the lilac tree, and a group of sparrows discovered my newly erected bamboo structure for the beans.
Was all a bit stagy, but directed by me to show OH that there is really something happening in our little garden. I was glad the birds had understood me during the rehearsal this morning.

                      :)

Nothing done today but yesterday I finally got round to setting up my pop up greenhouse and I used Gorilla tape to stick the flaps down in the hope it would make it slug/snail tight. Unfortunately, when trying to pull the zips round, the plastic came away from the zipper in several places so it's definitely not slug/snail tight. The seedlings I potted on were still all intact this morning but I think for this evening, I shall cover the holes with plasters

They get through the tiniest of holes @Februarysgirl , so good luck with that!
I'd not have much room for anything else if I had 25 pots of anything @Snorky85 - lovely fruit though. I should really grow them as they do well in our climate here, and they're pretty slug resistant, unlike most other fruit.
I didn't do much yesterday as I had things to see to, but I finished re covering my little growhouse, which was failing. Polycarb. panels had all deteriorated. Not bad - it's lasted around 8 or 9 years or so. It did involve a lot of naughty words when trying to dismantle the ends to get the polycarb. out, but that should keep it going for a while. Some seed sowing done, and then my new bare root sibirica Irises arrived, so I got those potted up. Not around for most of today, but my new superglue stuff is coming, so over the weekend [hopefully] I can repair the big pot that was my Dad's, which broke over winter.
