Nothing today it's been raining. There seems to be a lot more slugs this year, maybe because we had a mild winter.

I've got a couple of circular metal trays @AuntyRach, which were part of a firepit/barbecue thing I had, and they're good for the suspended pots. Unfortunately, they both have a hole in them , so that's another thing to fix!
I use old plastic boxes as well. Anything that's big enough, and can hold a couple of bricks, or similar, to put pots on.

After the rain this morning managed to finished refinding another path. Why do so many of our plants insist on growing outwards onto the paths?
Removed some plants that are going to be in the way of the new polytunnel.
Removed the cloche from the dwarf broad beans. Put sticks in place to stop the ....pigeons.

If plants didn't grow outwards, we'd be moaning about how difficult it was to get them to soften edges. :) That said, any plant described as "lax habit" I avoid cos it just means they will need a huge amount of space and will always look untidy. :nonofinger:

Today I'll be digging up two clematis and potting them to try and give them a chance of living. Utterly destroyed by slugs.
Other than that, pricking out a few seedlings, and just some bits and pieces, depending on whether I can be bothered or not!

Good luck @fairygirl I lost my Silver Moon the first spring after planting it out here. Gorgeous clem with a long flowering season, all gone.

Physio this morning but on the way home I went to some gardening friends' house to collect a spare elm which had been pulled up from their boundary by some eejit passing by. Can't plant it yet as it's going where the tree surgeon needs to pass to remove the dead walnut in our boundary hedgerow. I've pruned it to lift and thin its crown and it will go in a pot this pm.

Waiting for the rain to stop so OH can take the new bags of compost down to my potting area!

Sounds like you're having a tough time with those pesky slugs @fairygirl, although that's probably not the adjective you would use :)! You'll win, don't despair!

Slugs are merciless this Spring. I had bought a 20cm Cosmos from the farm shop on Sunday. This morning, the top was knocked down and the slug hing on the stem. I mean eating the leaves is smart but killing the plant that feeds you is by no means smart.

I agree this yr is particularly bad for them. :nonofinger: And they seem to be widening their menu to include previously "safe" things. :gaah:

Hope I’m not jumping the gun but, so far, there’s been very little slug activity here. Had to relocate a few snails but no slugs …:fingers crossed:

I'm just hoping for dry weather, slugs are not my biggest problem, its snails.
I was using a long stick to knock them out of the trees yesterday as they are eating the new shoots as they appear, and they stay up in the trees all the time.

I've also seen more snails than slugs this year. But I did find a small black slug on the utility room wall the other day - I'm guessing that it was on my clothes - yuck!

Weeded around the lavender bed. Removed self seeded plants from a huge pot. Cleaned it all out and put new compost in and sowed some annuals.
Dug up some old rocket plants from the now defunct polytunnel. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a replacement...fingers crossed.
Put some more contorted twigs into pots for the sweet peas to cling onto.

Not a lot just moving plants around outside from the greenhouse to the patio, but not the cosmos they stay in the greenhouse for a while.

Snails have eaten the tips off 4 Runner Bean plants, I'm left with just stalks:dunno: Slug/Snail pellets are not working for me.
I do have more plants coming on.
