Whoops! Wrong nursery. The hostas came from Sienna Hosta Nursery.

As we will be hopefully be moving in a month or a bit more (thanks bureaucracy) I had my raised corten round bed empty post the tulip show. So we went to the very good Springhead Nursery and got some dark leaved begonias and some Osteospermums to put in as the buyer absolutely loves the garden so think she'll appreciate a bit of colour. At the same time picked some lovely hardy fuchsia varieties that this time of year get sold for baskets :) pics from yesterday evening and in this morning's sunshine.
Not bad really for £10 and still have two leftover begonias to pot and take with us.

That was nice of you @amancalledgeorge to buy plants for the new owner. I hope the move goes well for you.

Preparing a border to put the cosmos in and some lillies. Planted out the rest of the gladioli and some snapdragons.

She's really nice @Busy-Lizzie spent three hours with her last week and her genuine love for the garden was lovely to see. We inherited just weeds so it's nice all our work over six years being appreciated. We have far too much stuff and pots

Moving house activities here as well. General tidying up, weeding, improvising crutches to the Rose obelisk that tends to be blown into 45 degrees angle.

Then I dug up the bucket pond that was in the impossible corner in the front where absolutely nothing grows. It took a while to get it out as it apparently had rooted

This pretty much explains why nothing grew there- after some years of soil improvement it's still pure clay fit for pottery classes. I filled the hole with compost from pots destined to be emptied and chucked in some Campanula that might just make it in that spot. :fingers crossed:

The pondlet was fun and as it had a tiny solar fountain without nozzle, puzzled delivery people to no end. It indeed looked like there was a frog or something making the water go plop-plop-plop amongst the rocks

Overseeded and top dressed the grass, which I cut yesterday when it was sunnier!.

Digging out /dead heading Euphorbia characias before it seeds all over the place. Dead heading the mushy roses and frantically spreading mulch while there's still some moisture in the soil.

Cut off the 6 old flower stems of Beschorneria yuccoides...only 6 foot long! Removed a mass of ivy growing on the wooden posts (no bird nests we checked before). Watered in the polytunnel as very dry.

Created a new bed with stone edging and planted my dahlias in it.

Also fitted a support for the thunbergia alata climber I planted in a pot in front of it.

And not planting but put up a new bird feeding setup - got the metal hanger pole from a local blacksmith which was surprisingly good value and felt good using something hand made and unique.

Just catching up here - I'll echo @Busy-Lizzie 's comments re leaving some new plants etc @amancalledgeorge. It's always nice when a new owner appreciates what you've done - inside or outside. I can't say I've ever really experienced it!
You'll certainly find the new location a steep learning curve ;)

I'm too tired to do much today. Should have been away for a walk, but the very high winds are a bit offputting. Fed up tackling the slug population too. When I brought in the 4 little dahlia seedlings last night, which are about 4"- 6" tall, and have been doing really well, I counted 11 slugs and a snail hanging off every bit of the foliage and the pots.
I might just sleep today....but it's not really me.
