I have been clearing out the delapidated summer house (shed) as I am in the process of dismantling it. Yesterday I managed to remove the glass panels from the windows. I am very sad to see it go as it has been great for storage but alas, the floor is rotten and it is practically falling down.:frown:

Took the dog for a walk before bottling a gallon of Elderflower Champagne. I have to wait 2 months before a taste test. Went to the ear clinic for my 3 monthly treatment and a shop at Aldi on the way home.
There are road works on the bypass so very long tail backs. Using the back roads certainly helped.

Rain is forecast for today so I plan to nip to G C for trays of annuals as suggested by members (thank you to all). And then sort out seed for the spaces, even if like foxgloves and verbascum they only make rosettes this year.

Rain forecast here too. I'm off work so just pondering whether to go outside and start a gardening job. If I do, it'll rain, but if I don't sod's law says it'll stay dry.
My arms and legs ache after yesterday's compost bin emptying - the compost is still a bit twiggy but OK for mulching or can be sieved for improving potting compost. I put it into old potting compost bags, 2 x 80l and 4 x 40l, all filled to the brim so probably more like 100l in the big ones and 50l in the small ones. Not bad for an hour's work. Now I need to turn "bin 2" into the empty "bin 3". Maybe I'll go out and start on that in a bit.

            What happened to 'summer'?
Just been to the 'office' to check on everything and it's cold.
My 4 courgette plants are looking perky so far (fingers crossed|)
I have some borlotti beans to plant up, but I will be protecting them from senile old springer... bless 'er..
I think the rest of the annuals can wait for dry weather

                Tuesday, 8AM. 66 degrees.

Used my car to tie to a stump I have been wanting to get out for a while, dug around it to get some area for the rope to hook to, and pulled with car, out it came. Now I can roll over the area with the ridding mower to cut that area easier.

Chess club meeting today. And some food shopping.

                Have a good day all.

I'm not doing anything in the garden today. Some members of the gardening club are coming to tea so I've made cheese scones, sausage rolls and a fruit cake with garden apples in it. I put the apples in the utility room fridge bottom drawer and they lasted until now. Only 1 left.

Next year, eh, @Busy-Lizzie? Save me a cheese scone.
We had a huge dollop of rain at about 4. I'd put the lettuce, parsley, basil and baby borlotti beans out for a treat. They got it.

I just love it when plants are watered naturally

Pleased with what we did today especially as it all went to plan
I sorted and sowed the seed in quite a few bare patches on the border.so hopefully they will not let me down!.By lunch time we were getting the rain so after lunch nipped down to Dobbies Garden centre.
There was so much that appealed to me........and...just what I'd been looking for ............... Well sort of !!!!!!!!
                          I couldn't resist .........
3 tree peonies at £7 each
2 large established chocolate Heuchera for £5 -50 each
                          4 grasses :
                          Miscanthus Red
                          Calamagrastis Karl. F
                          Penisetum Alopecuroide
                          Another lost label grass
                          Each £5
The tall grasses for back of the border.

We got quite wet but didn't mind , to say the least .
When arriving home their was no stopping me..... I placed the plants where they will be going by now I was quite a bit wetter .
I'm wondering what Tomorrow will bring:love30:
guess what ??? on the reduced indoor plants
                          was a Burgundy Orchid £2-50
And a Anthurium red again £2-50 each of these had been £12-99

Even the house plants were well established !!!!!!
Then on top of that we got 10% discount and a free coffee thrown in..

Watered and checked over the greenhouse and plants on the hard standing. Closed louvres in greenhouse to reduce the effect of the cold wind and general chill.

                              Very exasperated with myself.
Took dog for his walk then took him to the groomer for a bath and haircut. I drove across town to The Range in Par Market. As I walked through the doors I realised I had not picked up my purse.
Sooooo I drove all the way home, collected my purse by which time it was time to collect Rob so turned around and drove back to groomers, then gave up on the day.
