Looking out at the garden this morning, I realised that the work I did cutting the Griselinia yesterday was poor - not level when viewed from the house. I've been out with the loppers twice to get it right . Work revisited, a common occurrence here!

It must be countable or I won`t be able to count the day I lifted the tarp on the piles of soil in the compost castle to see how it was getting on, which is all I have done in the rest of December apart from cutting a few bits of greenery!

I was given some Tête-à-tête bulbs just before Christmas. To be fair, the were a birthday present from my cousin, but she was ill, so we didn't see each other on the day.
I shall plant them and be damned!
And I have all my seeds to sort out - no doubt I'll find some to replenish.

Managed the final visit of the year to the Allotments. Actually got some digging done, quite pleasant even though the sun never really broke through the clouds.

Found this beauty this morning - unexpected joy on an overcast day.

I haven't been able to do much in the garden because I am visiting family, plus I have been struck with a cold, so instead I am in bed, planning away for spring. I spent way too much time looking at hosta cultivars, as well as ferns. Heucheras are next. So many good options.

Finally got round to ordering some seeds. From Chiltern Seeds I ordered, amongst others, Datura and mixed bee, butterfly and hedgerow seeds, and as usual their bargain basement 10 packs of seed. I spend a lot of time looking up the latter packs as I have usually never heard of them. I wonder what they will supply this year.

From Plant World I thought I would give Ricin another go. The Red Giant looks good at the bottom of the garden.

I also had a look at one of my old oak tubs. It's on its last legs and has sprouted some fungus. I will buy another next year. There's quite a lot of rot in it.

Then I had a look at the lawn and found Mr Mole had been at work. Mr Mole is quite shy and said he didn't want his handiwork photographing, but it's a bit boring and won't upload anyway for some reason.

Nature soon takes over when you don't go in the garden so much, which I haven't been.

                Oh Mr Mole says OK.

I emptied another compost bin, one more to go.

Do we have a new thread for 2025 as yet? This is my favourite one!
