No, Caroline, but we do have small hummingbird hawk moths, and the large species during the last two summers, as well :) These birds are something else...tiny, fast and curious !

I've been rebuilding the dry dry stone wall this week , it were knackered bulging out not far off falling down . Its took far long than anticipated and more needed doing than first thought , looking over over the place for more stone , not far off done now . Worse bit I've lost my favourite mug sudden guest of wind through the shed door open hitting the bins taking my mug of tea with it :cry3:

I brought my autumn-sown seedlings into the house to water them because they are wilting (Sweet Peas, Wallflowers, Canterberry bells, Bellis and Sweet Williams). I will keep them in the house until this horrible weather warms up a bit.

Will pick some brussels sprouts later today. I was looking back through my emails and apparently I ordered 1kg of seed garlic to be delivered in february. Going to have to make another bed for that. At least I won't be short of it next year

                Hi,

[QUOTE="Michael Hewett, I will keep them in the house until this horrible weather warms up a bit. [/QUOTE]

I hope you don't end up with triffids @Michael Hewett. I don't expect our weather to warm up until at least May :)

Wow; I've just managed to clear our patio and pathways of oak leaves and tidy up after the blackbirds. It's still overcast and although rather cold I didn't feel too bad working outside; I was glad to finally get this job done and work without receiving a soaking.:dbgrtmb:

                Kind regards, Colin.

But you are in the north east of England and I'm in the south west of Wales, so we don't get the same weather, and the triffids will be able to go outside

Finally finished the dry stone wall :) scraping the barrel at the end for good pieces of stone, it far easier when they are all flat . Looks much better and hopefully won't need rebuilding again, I removed the gooseberry as well I don't really eat the fruit it spends must of its time abusing me while walking past .

How the wall was before looks a mess. I wasn't intending on rebuilding all of it but glad I did in the end. Good soil in that bed loam all the way to the bottom of the wall .

                    And now .

That old battery could raise 45p/kg if taken to scrap dealer.

                            Hi,

You've made a lovely job of the wall @Perki; it should last a lifetime. :dbgrtmb:

Many thanks @CarolineL for your kind comment; yes I'm sure @Perki and I would make a good team; neither of us scared of work or getting our hands dirty; pity the weather is so poor for the both of us otherwise we could do a lot more.

                            Kind regards, Colin.
