I seem to have a bat nesting in my rear porch. It's crawled up into the tiles and creating a large guano pile!

            Yes :)

We have that and bird boxes and bee insect boxes and lots of bird nests with young in them in our hedges and ivy. We also have a wild flower area (in the background of the third picture) mainly of Primula varieties and, later in the year, bee orchids and pyramidal orchids. We also keep a section of stinging nettles for butterflies. Some years ago we were awarded a 'wildlife friendly garden' plaque.

Our garden tends to be full of bees and butterflies for most of the year. Their favourite plants at the moment are the hundreds of Primulas in bloom already but in particular the white heather bush that is close to ten foot long and over three foot wide and has been in flower for a couple of months.

We also have two wasp nests in the ground under our big plum tree and one of the nests has been there for at least 40 years. When I'm picking plums they are all around me but leave me alone as I'm careful not to disturb them. There's plenty for all of us. :blue thumb: I even leave a red ant nest that is in one of the front lawns as it was there before we were (we've only been here 52 years) so they have prior occupancy. :heehee:

It's brilliant and I'm most welcoming to them. Until I want to do any building work if course!

That's a lovely, private garden you have @shiney! Well trimmed lawn edges, the sign of a dedicated gardener :).

Thanks yes those chicken manure tubs are quite difficult to open, when i have to open them i put some in another container, but have to label it.

Finished off doing the roses because it's going to rain later.

Well guess who has a smug face on? I decided to get out there and plant out my 11 drumstick primulas and my 4 cowslips. Assisted by the cat, I got them all sorted and as I tidied up the tools the rain started again. Nobody warned me how bally cold it was out there! I am awaiting one more denticulata and then I will have the full complement in the front garden. Time for elevenses! :coffee:

The anemones are refusing to open here today, it's cold and wet too! It's really not going to be a good day I fear as a mini digger was delivered next door at 7.00 am. Work began at 8.00 am on their driveway which runs alongside the main living rooms in my house. The earth moves!:rolleyespink::help:

I can totally empathise with you @Plantminded. My next door neighbour (lovely man) has been converting a white van into a sort of mobile home for him and his partner as they also have a property in France and they will use this van to travel to and from there. There have been some earsplitting 'set your teeth on edge' noises occasionally but they are super neighbours so I can put up with the noises.

Well, if there's a local award for endurance @Ladybird4, I reckon I could be on the list of winners! When I moved here over 10 years ago there was a lovely elderly couple next door. As their health deteriorated they moved into residential care and their house was sold. There have since been two new owners. Both employed cowboy builders to renovate and re-renovate, causing mayhem to all for about two years.

Pleased to add that the final Primula denticulata (Rubin) arrived today - much earlier than I was advised but the plus point being I was able to get it planted straight into the gap I had left for it whilst I had been planting out all of the others this morning.
I checked in the greenhouse where I have hollyhocks which have overwintered in there along with some Hesperantha seedlings which I acquired a couple of weeks back. I reckon these could be my next planting out job. Now all I need is the rain to cease.
