It's ok until they get stuck in your sandwich. Too crunchy really :heehee:
They're about the only animal around here that doesn't eat the plants or produce or crap on the patio!

Was working in my garden today, but I wasn't gardening, instead I had to sort and store some firewood from a beech tree that had just been felled that I was allowed access to..

It's a dogwould. They stop growing after a few years and they never need repotting.

                What a cutie! :imphrt:

Planted out my early brassicas this morning, all covered in fleece. Broccoli, cauliflower, kohl rabi, cabbage. Also coriander and dill as well as sowing a couple of short rows of some nantes carrots that I have no expectation of them making it past the inevitable slugpocalypse. Salads aren't quite big enough to go out yet, maybe next week some time

I think it may have been the really wet weather that's done for my fatsia japonica. It's been very happy for over a decade, but started getting yellow striations late last summer, and now the newest bit is wilting. :frown:
I can't actually remember if last summer was overly wet though.

We finished the mowing this morning, just before the rain started. First cut of the year finally completed!

In between the sunny showers, some of them quite heavy, I transplanted Giant Poppies, Common Evening Primrose and Double Sweet William, they were planted around the garden in clumps. The flowerbeds got 'tickled' as I went, plenty of young couch grass were fancying their chances.

Also transplanted in the veg beds, Kholrabi, Spinach, Brussel Sprouts Red Ball, Rocket and 4 Courgettes I might take out two of the weakest courgettes depending how they are growing or if my SinL fancies taking two off my hands.

Edited to say: I forgot to mention, beans and peas are up, how synchronised are they?

Got most of the old bark chippings from the raised beds bagged up this afternoon. I'm a day behind as I was waiting for some new plants to arrive yesterday (salvia plugs and geranium bare roots) and I didn't know what time they'd be arriving. The geraniums didn't arrive until about 4:30 so that was the day wasted! Was wanting to stay outside to finish off the job but the rain started hurling itself down. Steady rain, not a problem but this was big ol' drops really going for it. Of course, it's stopped again now but I'm nice and comfy now and not going out in the cold and damp again.

Heavy showers so ended up in greenhouse, planted up Achimenes tubercles, potted on a couple of things in there.
