Yesterday's gardening was little "pottering" jobs - took some cuttings (Petunia "tidal wave red velour", Penstemon "Garnet" and Erysimum "Bowles Mauve"), potted on a few houseplants, put up some more Gripple wire to support the shrubs that I'm encouraging to grow fairly flat against the fence, spiked part of the back lawn where it gets walked on all winter to get at the washing line, sprayed a few weeds that are growing n the cobble paving after a futile attempt to dig them out of the cracks, and planted out an Artemisia "Powys Castle" that seems to be in full growth already and was overflowing the pot.
Not much planned today, but I do want to find my quarter-seed trays and their lids ready for sowing tomatoes.

Long gone - my daughter is almost 21 now... spends more time with her boyfriend than us oldies.

Transplanted out some globe artichoke seedlings. Lost quite a few plants last year.
        Weeded carefully the asparagus beds.
Built an elongated wigwam support for the pea beans to climb up (but I have to sow them indoors first!).

In theory, I was going to fiddle around with a few plants and get the bigger raised bed topped up with topsoil but the plants took longer than expected.

            Lifted and relocated:
            Snapdragon Madame Butterfly Ivory
            Allium Summer Beauty
            Penstemon Raven
            Verbascum Sugar Plum
Verbascum Southern Charm (quite possibly my favourite buy of last year)
            Astrantia Shaggy
            Campanula Wedding Bells
            Guara Whirling Butterflies

            Divided and planted :
Geum Apricot pearl (which currently isn't looking very happy about it )
            Chaerophyllum Hirsutum Roseum

            New Planting:
            Achillea Nobilis Neilreichii
            Geranium Summer Skies

I swear tomorrow I will get going on topping up the raised beds!

Edit: I also gave my plum/green gage trees a sprinkling of chicken manure pellets.

I just did a little pottering in the garden but Mrs Shiney dug out loads of Arums and they have almost filled one wheelie bin. Nowadays we do very little planting but lots of digging out as everything spreads like mad!

Went to the tip in the morning, then spring patio clean: extension gutters cleaned, paving washed and treated with Patio Magic, windows washed, chairs are out of the shed. Ready for the season now.

Not a lot today - only watering. I am somewhat broken after the escapades of the past two days

More weeding, lots of Geranium robertianum removed and some Geranium yeoii, just wondering if I have some hybrids. Checked greenhouse and watered as necessary, Dahlia imperialis has shoots.

Didn't do as much as I wanted to, but never mind, there's always tomorrow hopefully. Just managed to plant a few statice and delphinium seedlings, and a couple of bags of ranunculus corms(?) that should have gone in the ground last autumn. Guess they've got two chances.

Yesterday spent in own garden, dug out ancient Hypericum and Euonymus, freeing up border space; splitting white phlox, moving some Brunnera to a slightly shadier spot, planting Penstemon plants and Verbena Bon which I propagated last year. Splitting an orange geum, hoping its Totally Tangerine (not sure), got 6 pots, all looking a bit droopy, but fingers crossed. Will do for garden club plant sale in May. Today spent at daughter’s much bigger garden - dug out ancient fuchsia (she has half a dozen), moved a St Swithun’s day rose, it’s got a 50% chance either way, dug out bindweed, celandine and loads of other weeds from borders. Helped plant a holly tree. Tomorrow, sorting out really really potbound agapanthus, splitting couple of hostas in pots, planting a rose in pot, digging out more invasive allium stuff which is filling a front border….. hoping to persuade OH to install automatic vent opener in greenhouse, sort out a compost heap or two, there isn’t one here yet and the old dustbin is nearly full…. Phew.

I’ve just read back on your activities this week - some great stuff going on!

I am officially behind in sowing seeds as I usually do some by 1st April and I haven’t had time to find seed compost yet!
I’ll do a selection for cut/flowers and a few veg just for pots/tubs in my “a-pot-ment” area. I don’t have a greenhouse but will resurrect my poly greenhouse soon.

@AuntyRach Your post makes me feel so much better. Aside from the sweet peas a few months ago, I haven't sown any seeds yet either! I have cheated and ordered plug plants for a couple of essentials but the rest I really need to get my butt moving on.
