I started making a new mixed bed on the 20th March. It has an amelanchier, which I'd already planted last year, 5 roses, 2 shrubs, a fuchsia "Delta Sarah" and various perennials. Today I planted all the perennials that I'd been collecting and this is it mulched and planted. 3 of the roses are hardly visible, got them on an end of season offer, they have big roots though. The bed is bigger in real life than it looks in the photo.

That’s going to be a cracking border @Busy-Lizzie.

I’ve been helping MIL in her garden today. The only up-keep is all the pots really. I’ve re-potted some, refreshed the compost on some and removed the old annuals (and weeds) from others. It’s made such a difference. It’s also a much more cheery space for her to sit out with a cuppa whilst the dog woofs about doing dog stuff.

Was intending to sow some malva and nasturtiums today but needed to clear up a bit first. In the end I only did the clearing up, I really wasn't feeling the seed sowing vibe today. Got the pop-up greenhouse out of the shed but it's a tad contorted from where I had to manhandle it back into its bag last year. I hosed down the patio because the plan is to make the greenhouse slug tight using Gorilla tape to stick it to the slabs. I have no idea whether that'll work, I'm going to have a number of seedlings soon that I'd really prefer didn't get munched on so it's worth a go.

There's more flowers coming out of the strawberries and there are some allium buds starting to appear. It's my first year growing alliums so fingers crossed it'll be a good display, especially since I didn't plant them until December in the end  Still waiting to see what tulips have come up. The buds have been out for a good week or more and I swear they're taunting me. I'm desperate to see Belle Epoque but seeing as I didn't plant the bulbs until January, I wouldn't be surprised if none of them came up or are blind.

I have planted the tree peony that I bought in B and Q yesterday half price. Also put up some more wires for the clematises and tried to tie them in. Potted up Coprosma Eclipse bought from ebay and replaced a dead strawberry plant in my strawberry tower with a runner that I potted up last year. Fed the gone over potted bulbs with tomato feed. I was going to transfer some of them to plastic pots as recommended by Monty but I couldn't be bothered.
Then I tightened up the base of the bird feeder which has been wobbly since I fell over it a couple of weeks ago, and refilled the feeders. I put some mealworms in a tray on the floor for the very busy and brave (he was a yard away from me yesterday when I was sat with the cat on my knee) robin who keeps appearing, but unfortunately the pigeons gobbled them all up in about 5 minutes.

I volunteered to weed my son's back garden lawn - which is fake! No kidding, after 3 years he now has proper grass growing through it and some weeds, worse of all, next door's bamboo is making a valiant effort to grow as well! It obviously likes plastic. Their (big) dog adores the lawn as it starts getting warmer underfoot this time of year and best of all hasn't got muddy this year unlike most of our natural lawns so win win.

In agony tonight-never felt like this before. After the evening garden session on Friday, I spent the next day moving big furniture items from my lincoln house that I will be renting. Been doing same again today as hired a van. Finished all that about 3pm today and then got in the garden.

Finished off doing the sleeper edging…

I laid on sofa and then struggled to get up…i have pulled a muscle in shoulder, in wrist and neck. Managed to muster up enough energy to get into bed.

What a lovely gardening day. Not raining, not too hot, just right. =I can hear everything growing, especially the weeds!
I finally cut back the winter flowering honeysuckle growing over the path and gate. I then continued by cutting down brambles which had come into the garden from the next door field. I had to give in and stop with severe backache and a rumbly tum after a couple of hours,
really wanted to go out and do more but could barely move, hopefully I will be able to carry on tomorrow in the greenhouse.
My lovely son in law came round with my repaired greenhouse roof light.
He and my daughter organise a Charity walk each year to raise money for the Fire Brigade. They raised £1800.00 this year! They were so lucky with the weather on Saturday.

I've finished building a little wall next to the GH and laid down some stone to get better access to the greenhouse , looks better than before but not overly pleased with how messy of a job I've done , the rain hasn't helped turning the mortar to slurry at times . Had to relay some other flags yesterday but I think I've dislodge them walking on them today .

I was hoping to get some plants moved today but never got round to it , I did pop to the GC this morning for a bacon/egg butty for breakfast no plants followed me home

I'm not hunting slugs everywhere in the garden, @fairygirl - just in the little "blow-away" which is full of seedlings. 9 more today...

What a PITA @Liriodendron. I don't have much in the gr'house yet, and what's in there is fairly slug resistant. I don't hunt them as such -I'd get nothing else done if I did, so it's a case of 'when I see them'....
Doubt I'll be doing much again today. Already had hail/sleet and it looks to be a bit duff weather wise today. I did a get a few things done yesterday until the rain came on in the mid/late afternoon, although I carried on for a good while. Mainly sorting the pond, as I want some of the shallow areas deeper than they are. It was too much to get them deep enough when I created it a few years back, as the ground was just too solid. It's good and wet just now so much easier. No idea where the spoil will go though - it's all clay, hardcore and coarse sand from the original ground where all the slabs were, and a bit of soil where I'd done the raised lawn.

Hope you're better today @Snorky85 . I have pretty constant back pain, and have had it for nearly 50 years, but I'm so used to it now, that I only notice when it isn't sore! Heat pads help. Your garden will be lovely for a bit of sitting and contemplating with a cuppa. Fingers crossed you get some nice weather for that.

Good morning. I did manage a few hours of gardening yesterday. Have managed to weed one entire flowerbed and thin out the Forget Me Nots.
After a couple of hours of gardening my back and knee tell me enough is enough!
Sympathies to you @Snorky85 with your aches and pains and hope you’re more comfortable today.
