I'm done for the day. Potted on the seedlings that were starting to look sickly in the hope that'll perk them up. They're currently in the cold frame but I'll bring them in for the night as it's supposed to get chilly this evening. Also potted up the surplus sweet peas which hopefully, I'll be giving away as opposed to having to use as replacements for the ones that I've planted out. I've finally got my potatoes planted in their bags and with a little luck, it'll be a good crop :fingers crossed:

Its been a unexpected nice day today , not much in my garden today I've been tackling the neighbour very tall leylandii hedge that backs onto my garden. Cut a few stones for the last bit of the stone path , I did have a few slim pieces left so chopped them up for plant pot feet my wooden one only last a year or 2 . Dug the odd weed out and planted some snowdrops I abandoned on the lawn yesterday.

Yesterday were much more productive I moved a Actaea James crompton and planted 2 Actaea Queen of Sheba the soil in the shaded area is still terribly wet , I planted some primrose in the shaded area as well . I also got a tropaeolum speciosum planted in the front garden and a Clematis montana rubens on the fence in the back garden, I got the Clematis from asda last year in a little 7-9cm pot and grown it on and it hasn't half grow its filled a 2L pot and really need planting much early not bad for £2 . I were tending to the demolished strawberry plants in troughs looks like the vine weevils have seen them off , I still haven't got round to emptying the troughs with the neighbour coming out asking if I could do the hedge .

Had a busy afternoon/evening in the garden. Mum came and helped out for a bit too.

Emptied all my terracotta bowls I used the alpines/sedums etc. mixed up a new gritty compost and filled them all again. Sorted out all the scraggy bits of plants and used those to plant up two of the bowls. Other bits saved to grow on.
        E0F31D1D-CF8D-464B-9204-2FEA90C3DA29.jpeg

Cleared out loads of old pots and sieved the soil.

went to GC and purchased a honeysuckle and a climbing hydrangea. Got back home and planted those in the garden. Also planted out a load of plants that were in pots.

split big troughs of hostas and potted some bits up for friends/family.

Got seedlings out of shady cold-frame and into the sun. Found a bit of plastic and made a makeshift cloche.
Cut the grass and tidied up. exhausted again

Gosh, you have been a busy bee @Snorky85 . Looking grand. :dbgrtmb:

I went to the Garden Center yesterday and bought lots of terracotta pots and plants. Will photograph and put up later.

I watered some of my cacti, they haven't had a drop since October. I did about half of them and I'll do the rest tomorrow (painful knees back and shoulders stopped me doing them all today :frown:)
I also took some trays of succulents to a cold frame and I'll take the rest tomorrow for the same reason.

I also managed to prune a few potted Fuchsias, and bring my Solya and Plumbagos outside and water them
            .

We have a very narrow area between our house and the garden next door. Went in during the rain and cleared the rampant ivy that is all over the fence and trying to climb the wall of the house. The fence belongs to us and it does look like we need to get it replaced. It has done a great job after 35 years but we think the ivy is what is still holding it upright. So looking at what and who to replace the fence.

Been to the local GC. I was very good, and spent no money.
However, I noted prices, and returned home with plans to put in redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes, and a pear tree. Raspberries can wait until autumn.
But - I do have to not only plan where to put them, but persuade my wife that we NEED them!!!
She's not so keen on more fruit. More fruit inevitably means more jam - which requires more storage.

I've also mown the lawn, so now could do with a snooze.
                Zzzzz!!

Well not actually IN the garden today because of rain, but did those niggling garden-related jobs I could do in the garage. Cleaned and sharpened three pairs of secateurs, which seem to take ages, did the full works, wet and dry carborundum paper, took blades apart etc, then sharpened and WD40‘d them. (Note to self) I promise not to leave them lying around the garden in the rain, to clean them after every use and remember where I put them…
Sanded and re-oiled 4 garden chairs (2 coats).
                  Potted up some cornflower seedlings.
Between showers helped OH re-measure the tiny space we have available for a garden shed. We can only fit in a 4X4 foot tool shed between the house and a fence. Ordered one from Tiger sheds.

I haven't done any gardening today. Think I overdid it shovelling compost from my chipped wood onto the shrub bed and making the bed around my gazebo yesterday and the day before as a muscle in my back was painful yesterday evening.

Yesterday did some more weeding, nothing today it's been raining all day, hubby finds it difficult to get up from kneeling after he had his 2 hips replaced, he has to hold on to something to lift himself up.

These kneelers are brilliant, they make getting up and down a breeze.

Yes, agree on the kneeler, my older sister swears by hers. I just have my old yoga mat folded over and sewn together but it doesn't help me get up.
