I did use a plank to help me get them out but the great invention of a sack truck worked a treat, poor thing thought it were going to buckle but it held strong , that how I got them in the van handles in the van and picked them up from the wheel side and shoved them in. I were a bit worried I had overload the van weight wise . I can't pick the big ones up properly more like shimmy them around and hope they don't squash me.

Its the only thing like about driving is the amount of stuff I can carry , I don't enjoy the endless traffic - road works and the cost of running 4 wheels is extortionate.

I was planning to have a lazy day today, but after our usual walk down to the village ended up watering the front garden when I got back. Yes, I know it was the wrong time of day, but needs must. I tidied around the Hanging Chair, putting a manure/compost mix around the clematis behind it which has decided it didn't want to die after all and erecting a bamboo cane 'fence' around it so I don't accidentally squash it with the Cushion Bin.
Next, I retied the Trachelospermum back onto the wall trellis, gave that a good water and a mulch of manure/compost, then sat and had a third cuppa in the Chair. Later on, I watered the whole back garden with the hose pipe. There's too much of it to do individually with a watering can.
Cooked a roast Sunday dinner, drank a large glass of cold wine and am now eating chocolate with my coffee - a good Sunday all round.

You have my sympathies with the noisy neighbours. Mine are just dreadful most of the time, barking dogs, screaming kids, footballs being kicked againgst the fence, adults talking loudly to be heard about the cacophony of noise!! I've resorted to wearing ear defender muffs !!

This morning I watered the Pear tree and both Cabbage Trees.

Nipped into garden centre after my walk and bought another pot of Pony Tail grass ( can divide into 3 ) and a tiny pot of white Petunia and a tiny pot of Purple/ Pink Verbena. Sat and drank coffee, watched bunnies winding up the cat and listened to the birds. Neighbours gone out - yay !!:yahoo::hapydancsmil:.
Delighted to say that the Bees are now feasting on the Alpines and saw a tiny hover fly on one of the forget-me-nots. Also, when I planting a bit of Mint I found a tiny, pink wormy very cosy in a grapes stalk that was buried in the soil. First worm I've seen since I moved here. Didn't find any when preparing the borders for growing. Hope more worms will come soon.

Crikey @Perki! You must be a big muscly chap to deal with those stones.
            Do be careful.

It was 21°C at 7pm. Been a lovely sunny day. I planted my baby mangetout peas and I found my packet of sugar snap peas so I sowed them in the garden, no time to sow them in pots now. Weeded out a load more buttercups, think that's the lot.

              @Logan
I harvested some poppy seeds from the flowers in a garden nearby last year, after the owner had died. If you have sown your poppy seeds, then it may be a good time for me to plant mine.
I guess I can only try and see.
              Thank you.

Mine aren’t bad really, I’m just ultra sensitive and resentful that anyone else is nearby . I feel for you in your situation though, sounds terrible. Your location in your profile says “not for long” so I presume you have an escape plan @luciusmaximus?

We used to have noisy and difficult neighbours. We moved house, and apparently those difficult neighbours have moved since we left. It appears that they found our replacements disturbed them. I find that amusing!!
We have much nicer neighbours now. Friendly people.

They are not deliberately being noisy, just not aware that they are being disruptive. They have every right to use their gardens but don't seem to think that maybe they should be a bit considerate to the neighbours. My escape plan is to move as soon as I can get house fixed up.

I spend a couple of hours trimming three Mandevillas in pots, splitting a White Salvia Greggi which I have had since 2008 into two putting each half into its own pot, potting 6 cuttings of my big Rosemary, made a pot of mixed things that didn't have homes, watered the newly planted Dahllia rhizomes and Adeniums.

Watered the polyanthus and the blueberries, put broken egg shells in the pots of lillies to stop the slugs and snails, also put petroleum jelly around the rim of the pots to stop them climbing in the pots.

Thank you Victoria, that was taken last September, now he's as big as the other 2.

Last year it was wet here and a mild winter so there was a lot of slugs, but this year is dryer so I'm just doing it just incase.

Went plant hunting this morning and bought a new Berberis (Neon) so planting that was the first job after lunch. Then I set to with the border spade and reshaped my island bed that the lawn was busy reclaiming. Did some weeding and then mowed both lawns before jacking it in for the day.
