Planted the second Clematis viticella 'Kermesina' - the opposite side of our archway from the first.
    Wife planted broad beans.
The first shoots are now sprouting, of the wildflower areas I seeded. That's encouraging.

I've been out and about today to 3 garden centres picked up a few bits - Achillea terracotta - ligularia the rocket these are just to add to existing group of plants I have to plant. I were curious about a tomato plant called Sungold super sweet as you guessed its supposed to be sweeter than Sungold :th scifD36: we will see.

Back home I repotted a Brugmansia thrown out another failed dahlia and had a look to see if anything else will make an appearance :fingers crossed:. Didn't have much motivation to do much but somehow I got stuck into cutting and placing some stone down on another path, its not going well I've broken two already, its probably not going to look right good but better than looking at concrete and mud .

They are only stone roof flags so very thin.

Well the rehydrated slugs have polished off every veg seedling that had germinated.

We had some visitors to come and look at the garden, mainly the masses of cowslips etc., and the Exochordas (the Bride) decided to come into flower much more so they could show off to the visitors. The yellow tree peony as started to display.

Early in the morning I mowed around the edges of the wild area where the grass had got to about 7" in height. Note to self:- don't let it get that long as it took mowing it three times at different heights. The trouble is that I never take any notice of the notes to myself

The early morning visitors went and then we had friends round for dinner so only just got time to start trimming lawn edges before having to do the cooking.

Mrs Shiney is usually very busy at this time of the year with sowing, potting on, doing cuttings etc. but has a badly infected finger (I keep telling her to wear gloves) so didn't do anything out there.

I've planned to do a lot today but we shall see.

            Little *******s! :gaah:

Sympathies to Mrs Shiney re the finger injury, @shiney. I have one myself and it really slows down progress on the simplest task out there. :th scifD36:

The first tomato seeds I sowed last week have germinated. 3 seedlings so far, must crack on with more seed sowing etc.

Sorry to hear that and hope it clears up quickly.

Her swollen finger popped this morning and nearly half a teaspoon of puss came out :yikes: :runforhills:. Don't think it is completely clear but isn't hurting her much now. She has put something on it and taken something for it.

Dug over and weeded the borders, re-edged and mowed the lawn. Not much exciting today but it does look tidier!

What a glorious day its been . Nice sunshine and starting to get to grips with the long list of garden jobs that need doing . Last job was to , at last sow some tomato seeds.
The photos are of our apple trees , the red is a crab apple , the other single apple tree is a James Grieve which i am trying to train into a dwarf and that is easily the best blossom yield so far. The other is my cordon apples , blossom is starting to go over but again they have been a delight to the eye.
Anyway time for a drink and catch up on the posts of the last two weeks

I planted dozens of native primrose plants in our community Orchard this morning and then after lunch, started weeding the main bed alongside the drive. Will finish this off tomorrow as got too tired to continue. Weather permitting of course.

I cut back my winter flowering honeysuckle, now I can get through the back gate. It still has a few hidden flowers on it, been flowering since November.

Sowed yet more corn poppies in different places. How come ones come up where I haven't sown and where I have very few do? Harvested some more leeks. Still doing Ok. Continued to tackle the towering ivy growth on fruit trees. Really we have left it all far to late.
