Planted out lettuce. Potted up more marigolds. I am hoping this take off now the temps have picked up a bit. Most of them are for other people and they are taking up valuable room. Potted up some dahlias.

That is so sad. I had bunnies in my yard a few years ago and I notice the rain was running toward the entry to the babies so I banked up around the entry a bit and then put an old umbrella over it. Was lucky to see them grow up and become independant :)

Not much today as I had a lot of work to do and then because it was still really chilly outside, I went to a garden centre that is very near a supplier I had to visit as well. Got two ferns to redo the weenie garden at one side of the deck that is mostly shaded.

Two more days of cold and then and I'll be really busy moving plants around :)

Still raining here on and off. Managed to get into the greenhouse and I've sown some Nigella papillosa "African bride" and Eryngium gigantium "silver ghost" both new to me but thought I'd try something new. I'd like a dry day at some point to get some plants out of the greenhouse and into the borders now :love30:

Not much done here, although I did put my succulent cuttings outside to have some rain (14 trays of them :yikes: ) and now they are drowning so I've had to drain them off and take them back into the perspex shelter.

I'm going to have the slippery decking on my patio changed for slabs so I have to find room to move everything to, including all the plants in a lean-too which will have to be pulled down. I'm trying to move things gradually but where am I going to put everything ??

Is that you @Michael Hewett ? Nice to meet you.

We are having our gravel path laid to slabs this weekend. Will put up pics as and when.

Planted up some of the new plants I got yesterday, have a couple more to do. Our friend John who is going to have the Cavendish Banana I have tired of and replace with the new Oleander this afternoon.

Yes it's me @Victoria about 5 or 6 years ago, wearing rags in my pottery making shed :heehee:
but I still look the same.
I don't know why I put this photo on really, I hate people looking at me  I'll change it soon I think ...

I think it is nice to know who you are chatting to. I swap around. My current one is me last July, photoshopped with Pencil Sketch. I often have my cats or various of my blooms up. May change mine soon.

This morning I went up the ladder to tie in the climbers along the house. The honeysuckle, jasmine and rose are doing well, but the Passion flower didn’t like the extreme cold in February, so is slow to get going. It’s all looking much tidier now, and I managed not to disturb the wren on their nest.

I’ve just cut paths in the grass this afternoon. We are taking part in “no mow May”, but I still need to cut paths across, so I don’t get my feet wet as I go to the compost bays, fill up the feeders, or wander up to sit by the pond.

Later this afternoon I plan to plant out my french beans, and maybe try a courgette...

Spent most of the afternoon pricking out trays of cosmos, calendula, zinnia, nicotiana. I always feel sooooo bad about the poor seedlings which have gone to the effort of germinating....only to not make it into the bigger modules :-(

At first glance @Logan I thought they were chocolate fairy cakes with gold sprinkles on top!

Leeks have been planted out, and the red cabbage and purple sprouting broccoli moved into it's place in the coldframe to harden off a bit. I'm itching to plant out the sweetcorn too but trying to be paitent...

I've been brutal with sunflower and cosmos seeds this year. I sowed the first cosmos a few weeks ago and had very poor germination, unsurprising given it was an old packet. So I sorted through all my seeds and found several packets of both that ranged from 2-5 years old; I've sown the whole lot with the expectation that a lot won't germinate but I'll hopefully get "enough". Of course the likely outcome is they'll now all sprout and I'll swiftly overtake enough with "too many", but they couldn't keep skulking around in my seedbox for endless years :rolleyespink:

I've also been potting on the Linaria "Canon J Went" seedlings which @Jenny namaste very kindly sent me seed for last year; the seed didn't germinate for ages, but at the last minute some seedlings popped up in the autumn. They're spindly little things at present but they spent the winter holding steady in the coldframe, so hoping to see some growth as the weather warms up again.
