I have an endless supply of pretty decent and free plastic pots, from my gardening center, and they are pretty useful as stands in the garden. But I never considered painting them. It is a pretty good idea, I might give it a go.

 

@Aldo I got tired of taupe hanging pots too. I wait too long for colour so I rush it. Painted these too


I made the new pot hangers out of down rigger fishing line because the pots are 20 years old and their hangers got brittle and broke. I'm still playing with getting the carabiners all the same length so please forgive the sloppy view.

 

@CanadianLori I like those On a completely different note, you have some interesting Canadian wildlife crawling on your table Did you make that frog too?

 

I thought the frog was British but it turns out it is from Quebec... ​

 

That frog's name is Harry.

 

Thanks @luciusmaximus It's hard-I miss her so much and still cry every day, but I guess it's just because I loved her so much. Got cheeky little Bea to keep going though.

I'm up at the Lincoln bunaglow (now a "holiday let") I've been up early doing a bit of gardening-tied up a rose, sweet peas and new passionflower growth. Trimmed a few bits back too-the green wheelie bin is now full.

Bonus...The lovely lavender in the front garden has self seeded!! never had that happen before, so picked then carefully out the gravel and popped in a tray to transport back home and grow on.

 

If I had half your energy I could never enjoy gardening as a Summer hobby..
It would all be done and dusted on the first day, by 12pm :D

 

Finished planting the pot marigolds around the path but still got a lot left, I'll put them in containers.

 

Woke up this morning and realized that sun had got my shoulders, forgot to put sunscreen on,so today cover up. It was when I was planting out yesterday, so have to be careful today.

 

As it was overcast this morning I did more deadheading of Petunia and Verbena and a few Pelargoniums, Also planted some Pepino muricatum seeds in a pot where I had a small plant and lost it this winter in our cold snap (also due to some human neglect).
Really not much to do except make sure plants are tidy.

T'other Half finished removing the steps to the upper deck above the Outdoor Living Room as now it is only used for Solar Panels. It was always too hot up there anyway. But I won't see this view any more ...

 

Not much really as I'm having a bad day, had to rest up completely this morning.
This afternoon I did some deadheading, its my favourite summer task and is so relaxing .....and fortunately never-ending!!
Plenty of Lupins, Aquilegia, Pelargoniums, Poppies, London Pride, Bellis and Iris blooms needed removing , still some left for tomorrow.

 

Shame to lose the view Vicky but can imagine it must get unbearably hot up there.

 

Yes, Upsy, but it is nice looking through the orange trees rather than over them. The type around us blossom and fruit all year round, so you can have blooms, green and orange fruit at the same time. Best time is April/May when the scent is very strong and it is why we decided to buy in the orchards ... windows wide open and the house naturally scented. Heaven. Also, mossies are not so fond of citrus trees. And someone needs to tell the cats they don't like it!???
