This morning I dead-headed the Lilliies. Although really they don't need it as they drop their spent blooms very quickly I just don't like the mess they make ,especially with all this wet weather of late we tend to end up with a slimy load of rotting blooms to clear away.

Still waiting for the Giant Lillies to open up, but like most things they too are late this year. IMG_20210629_121413.jpg IMG_20210629_122100.jpg

Not very much as like @hydrogardener it is very humid and 95.9f at the moment. I did take a stack of old pressure treated wood and other items to the dump. Yup, too hot to be in the garden but not too hot to run around on a paved lot, distributing wood, electronics, metal, plastic into their appropriate bins...

Well, I guess I could consider that gardening :noidea: because now I don't have any junk left out there and the yard looks tidier.

Today I am pretty amused watching my wife discover that all those plants that "look like weeds" actually bloom if you let them.
It's a kind of cute childish joy as she discovers raspberries growing, blueberries ripening and a wild malva (I had to defend for weeks) blooming amongst lots of other stuff she didn't even know before (THAT is how tomatoes grow??).

Your mallow looks glorious and was well worth defending, @Black Dog! :love30::paladin:

Today was definitely an improvement on yesterday's rainy weather but still overcast and very humid, which made the little work I did seem very tiring. Finally got round to adding the second Lathyrus latifolius to my new butterfly border, that's the climbers for the fence sorted. :) I then planted Echinacea 'White Swan', Lysimachia ephemerum and Eryngium 'Big Blue' in it.

Walked past my little bee house and a Mason Bee made me chuckle, it just stood there facing me for a while: "You looking at ME, fella?" :heehee:

Yesterday picked peas, a few blackcurrants and raspberries. Checked gooseberries, coming on nicely.
Pruned a couple of buddleja and cut another shrub back; this last will be moved to a new position come autumn where it can spread out a bit.
Dug some cyclamen up for a work colleague.
Watered and fed greenhouse plants as required.

Bit of weeding. Thought I'd better take a photo. of the Convolvulus before they are destroyed by the rain:

Did some weeding around the lavender and the roses, planted a hardy fuchsia.
Yesterday picked some blackcurrants and a few raspberries.
Got to do a bit of watering.

Took some weeds out of the planter boxes, cut the grass, added some seed to the patches as we have rain for the next few days, watered the veggie beds, then just chilled on the deck in the sun.

Yesterday evening cut the grass at the front and under the trees: I say grass, but more clover, yarrow, ivy, geranium finished bulb leaves, yellowed anemone leaves etc. Picked peas.
Today given the showery weather forecast probably in the greenhouse do some potting up, clear up stuff that didn't make it through the winter/spring.

Tackled half a hedge, dug out stones, used up last of grass seed (patching jobs!) and general pottering jobs. Think I'm starting to get on top of the garden jobs at last. I might be mistaken of course

Depending on shower:sun ratio then there are cacti to repot in greenhouse, plants to plant outside, some peas to pod and freeze (all ready at once this year).
