Never when it come to cleaning!! I know I'm probably ott when it comes to chores but if I know they need to be done then I can't overlook them. I can't relax in the evening until everything is done.

That's me and thankfully hubs is the same.
    Perfect match.
I'll be on my death bed dusting the headboard!!:roflol:

Thankfully we're all different, that's what makes the world so interesting.

Well, on Monday (a public holiday here) we had the sad task of cutting back all the branches on our now-dead “sour cherry”. It flowered brilliantly each early spring, but this year was caught with that really late cold snap, with temps going down to -14c. We think this hit the tree just as the sap was rising…

      to this… D90E5E28-9F4F-4958-81FB-ABDCEFF6AA6F.jpeg
You can see the dead branches above the pink and white at the end of the mown “path”.
Really sad, and yet another tree that we have lost - now more than 20 since we moved here 9 years ago. We will not be planting any more…

…anyway, branches were cut off and bundled for garden waste collection. We have left the main trunk and three main branches to run a clematis / honeysuckle combo up, and to hang bird feeders on. This autumn I will redevelop the bed to be bursting with spring bulbs, and I have a cistus to place there, although it will need fleece protection in the worst weather.

Yesterday I was feeling c**p with a headcold and achy limbs. I did cut back the persicaria from around the water barrel, and started to clear the bed under the dead tree ready for bulb planting at the weekend. Then I found out that our puppy was escaping into the neighbours garden - from which he has easy access to the road. So all other plans were put on hold whilst I went out and found him, then dragged some fencing to run around the hedge where the hole is. The neighbours will allow me to go next door tomorrow, to block the hole under their fence more permanently. The problem is the foxes are used to be able to come and go between gardens, and it doesn’t take much work to make a fox-run big enough for an adolescent weim to wriggle under….

I've just seen you post Vicky!!! Stubborn ??
        I disagree, it's the way I am sorry.:wub2:
My Mum was a perfect role model and my job entailed having many children in the house and always the chance of Environmental Health popping in without notice ( I had to be registered with them). So chores had to be kept on top with.
It's the way I live, as a couple of jobs a day leads to a tidy life imo.

Back onto what you're all doing outside now.

Lovely pics @Sian in Belgium we were contemplating cutting down our Cherry but have now decided to cut it back hard and low and see how it responds....nothing to lose.:fingers crossed:

        Hope you feel better soon:grphg:.

Upsy Sweetie, I am not saying you shouldn't keep your house clean. You know you push yourself with the garden. I am older than you and I HAD to learn to change, not by choice but that is probably easier than voluntarily albeit more frustrating. Just pace your as you are (or maybe are not ) and be safe. :imphrt:

Last 3 pots of Tulips done and netted up. I am telling myself NOT to even look in the direction of any bulbs this afternoon when we go into town. ;)

Cut back the roses a bit for winter and took down the hanging baskets and put in the little greenhouse.

Might try to find some time to put some plants under cover today. I managed to split and distribute some helenium plants earlier which got far larger than I planned!

Quite a bit of tidying required but I'm leaving it for more leaves to fall off the forest if oaks at the end of the garden first...

Checking in greenhouse to see if there’s any plants I’ve missed that need to come indoors, found a couple already, some young dragon fruits, and some rhipsalis :blue thumb:

Just came in from repotting my Beloperone guttata Lutea "Yellow Queen". It is just a baby plant but wanted in in a slightly larger terracotta pot for the winter. It was hot in the sun.

Not much today just put the bubble wrap on the greenhouse, going to collect some leaves to put over the hedgehog houses.

Well the frost last night finally saw the dahlias off it froze the night before also , some have been looking rather sad after a battering from the weather . Its been raining nearly all day even this morning which is unusual when it freezes. I usually go round the garden before a hard frost for cutting and stick them in a jar of water, normally fuchsia but the saliva verticillata are showing promising signs from a previous test a few weeks ago.

Plants arrived yesterday so I've been unwrapping and inspecting them today , they all seem in good nick :), were think of trying to plant them today or tomorrow but I am not sure the soil will be workable at the moment .
I've been out in the garden cutting back the blackened dahlias , I'll have to wrestle them out of the pots next, still some to cut back in the garden but my hands were getting cold so in for a brew . It raining again so I'll call that a do for today
