As it was mild and sunny I got to mowing a couple of lawns. As the grass was very wet I ran the back of the rake over it before mowing.

Mrs Shiney cut down more Leycesterias and kept more of the stems for the star door wreathes. She also cut back some of the grasses.

She didn't attempt to cut back any of the zebra grasses as they really need power equipment. They also need splitting and then I pot some up for selling next year and shall take the bulk of them to the charity garden centre. They will teach their students with learning difficulties how to split and pot them. I'll also dig up about 100 Jerusalem sage (or get someone younger and stronger to do it) to take there. As the hardy geraniums are spreading like mad I'll dig up a lot of them and dump them in boxes to take along. They don't want anything potted up as they need to teach them what to do.

My nasturtiums are still flowering a bit on Christmas day.

(I had planted Nasturtiums in various places in the garden, and it seems to matter a lot exactly where you plant them).

I made some soil blocks and sowed some chillie seeds. There are 56 little blocks now sitting on the heat mat with capillary watering to keep them moist. :)

And I have another 100 blocks ready to sow over the coming weeks.:blue thumb:

Finally stopped drizzling, beds too wet to tromp all over though. However got all the Japanese Anemones cut down and old leaves removed from hellebores, which are starting to flower.

I sharpened my Shears and started to cut the very long Grass. It far too long for the mower, I'll do a little each day...............oh, plus I'm bored and need to get in the garden.

seems to be raining every evening, not drying out enough for me to continue with the leaf removal process. so all inside stuff.
