Just started the Monstera, Silky Oak, Sensitive Plant and Asparagus Fern seeds. Most of these will be for my son's new place as he loves house plants. The packets the seeds came in are generic so I cut out the picture and descriptikn from the catalogue for each one and attached them to the packets with paper clips so that if he wants to plant more seeds later on, the picture will quickly tell him which is which. ;)

Did not water the persian silk tree. Or what's left of it. I used the moisture gauge, for a change, to tell me what to or not to do :pathd:

cleared out the buildup of chippings from all the logs that we cut up. .Henryetta to the right never far from me if I am digging anything...We have a place to put quite a lot of the chippings and of course in time it will be soil...The boundary wire fence Hunting Dogs side..I advised Mr.W that it would be and idea to stack some of the chippings against the base of the wire fence to block off any attempt of a dog breakthrough...trimmed and pulled up loads of their ivy that is now starting to spread to our grass again. They do nothing and do not care that their garden is becoming our garden...so it all gets thrown back to them now, we have completely tried to be amicable..especially Mr. W who has always been a peace maker with neighbours, even impossible ones, but the end is the end of any possible compromise now. We will not speak at all now as they even went to the Marie and put a file on us about our english vehicle that is off road and fully insured just in case..that we use it illegally on the roads...She shouted this out to me a few months ago and guess it might be true about the file they do act like they own you.....but honestly the new Marie is a real a*se a complete waste of space and sadly our old Marie committed suicide over some ruthless people in our commune. Nobody would put themselves forward for the 'Job' so the one we have was self elected somehow...not sure how the system works..
Right back on track..enjoyed the labour got told off for why are you doing that 'syndrome but' can you imagine when the chippings take over and become a huge chipping tip................... 012.JPG download (1).jpg

Finally got round to ripping out the Goji berry plant.
Total waste of time that plant was, only ever had a few berries but it grew like crazy.

Cleaned the greenhouse glass, with the help of my daughter. Took twice as long as it should have, but we had fun.

I took mine out a couple of months ago. As you say, a complete waste of time from a fruit point of view.

Have a mooch around and see what catches my fancy, might decide it's too cold and retreat inside after checking the greenhouse.
There again if the sun is out I might do some more on the new raised bed as the rain from Storm Christoph will have settled that a bit.

All but one of our apple trees have been pruned and it took a full day. Just the one apple and the pears to go. Plums will be pruned later in the year. :blue thumb: The apples are pruned every year and always give a good crop. They're all between 70-100 years old (I know the feeling ) and we try to restrict the height so that I can reach the top with the fruit picker on a pole.

Still tidying up around the snowdrops. :)

The pigeons seem to be enjoying the brassicas

Rabbit warren now blocked off from our side of the fence - again

Cleaned and checked out the grow lights and heated mat. Ran up to temperature for a couple of hours. Painted up ( white) a new board for one end. Now ready to sow chilli and peppers.

No gardening due to :snow:. Just a light dusting that melted away very quickly, but very cold. However, had quite a productive day that was gardening related. Collected a free compost bin ( looks new and unused ) and then a free corner bath. Not sure where bath will go yet but it will become with a flower bath or a wildlife pond.

I just did a little bit of hand raking of moss in the beds and filled a 40 litre weed bucket. I don't seem to have made much of an impression on the moss .

By the way, if you want to buy a weed bucket don't Google 'weed bucket' - unless you want to grow pot! :roflol: Try ,bucket for weeds, instead. :blue thumb:
