WHAT ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY - 2021

Thanks i like all dogs but the special one is a golden retriever, also i like cats.

 

Nothing today apart from a quick check on the greehouse and coldframes. Repotted a couple of houseplants and gave the others a dose of TLC.

 

If I see something amusing with a golden retriever I will send it your way, Logan.

 

We had that in Bexhill and we have that here..We have different weeds that come in waves....the worse one we have is like a clover but it creeps under the grass and has extremely creepy habits trails out like an octopus arms....kills off the grass like ivy does..

 

Mr. G wanted to get another vine and apparently off his own back removed a trailing trumpet plant that looked dead...looked dead..
We went to one locally and got some Charlotte Seed Potatoes and the Vine a Table Grape Chasselas dore it says....Mr. G. told me after that he dug the hole and added our own compost even put some stones on top and some roof tiles around the outside to keep Henryetta from destroying it.
He then said I put the dead plant in the trailer......oh dear I said WHAT DEAD PLANT...(he is still breathing)...

 

Do you leave the roots in situ, @shiney? Have you ever re-grown it from the previous year's plants? I read that it's a tender perennial and I'm wondering whether to keep 2020's plants or start again from seed this year

 

Calm, mild temperature, hazy sunshine and no rain today. Had a very nice bike ride and found all the hills no problem at all now . Very wet everywhere though and as I have bought mud guards yet I did get a bit mud splattered.

Too wet to do much in garden but just had to be outside this afternoon. Moved a Ladies Mantle from the back of one of the baths to the front, emptied out a pot of spent compost to add to flower bed under the cherry tree and cut back more brambles. Tonight heavy again.

 

Snow? Like most had non really for some years till last Sunday! Two shots of part of garden, 8 days apart.
Salvia Jezebel ( 2 years old) and snowdrops, hellebore.?.. Covered in snow (got even more overnight - flattened!
Still very alive though others now brown! Roots still OK!

It's turned it be a lovely day , Spend most of the morning tidying, cutting back and deadheading.

Also added another tier to some more Sweet Pea yogurt pot towers and pinched them out as I went along

 

It took me awhile to upload pictures on here, but got it now..several ways of doing it.. it can work by saving your pictures in a folder on yuour PC..got that so far....then copy and paste back here sometimes it works sometimes it does not....otherwise you can go to gallery and make a collection..and copy and paste them from there..that is once you have got them to your galley folder..can go into it more if needed...

 

Been out in the rain and cut back the rest of the dead perennials they were getting on my wick , with the snow / rain it flattened them which ended up over the lawn , I've decided I am not a fan of letting perennials die back gracefully but for a couple I'll be cutting majority of them back in future .

I dug up my cobaea and potted it just to see if it will come to , my 2 seeds sown have already germinated so no worry if it doesn't.

I've been working in my mum garden when the weather permitted , smashing concrete up what I've dug up over the years to make a sub base for a path, the Indian stone turned up today and sand yesterday so that should keep me busy for a while . Its turning out to be a expensive Christmas present, it had decking before which were a death trap if you didn't slip on it you were going through it instead .
