@luciusmaximus @Upsydaisy they ARE slugs aren't they?! Gives me the creeps!:hate-shocked:

Make sure you don't over do it shiney!

Think I will do a bit of hoeing over the back shady border this morning.

I also need to find somewhere to move a box ball too. It's gone yellowy and apparently its environmental stress-so might be sat in water at the roots according to RHS:dunno:

Why don’t you just lift it and add some grit for drainage snorky?

Planted out a lot of potted crocuses in spaces where they failed to come up from last year.

065.JPG 067.JPG Apparently I have made a lot of mud and made the ground lose by well= I cannot do the action but I was chopping the gravelling soil with the spade to even it after I made all this apparent mess. I tell you what, with the phone call from Rascol the sewing machine people just awhile ago I do need a medal..It's tough being a :love30::)Boss but somebody has to be that...me..o...:heehee:

Mr. W. made this a while back and we has strawberries in it for years..We
decided that Mr.W would repair it and change it a tad, then it might go in
the new greenhouse...time will tell...plans get changed often..:dunno:

I've spent just over a couple of hours on my knees in the borders cleaning and clearing out more plant dead stems and leaves, while doing some more cutting back of Hardy Perennials. I actually filled a 300litre garden sack to the brim with all the stuff but I find it can take 3 or 4 sweeps of the borders to get it all, I do leave some for the Worms to pull down into the soil and the Birds to use for nesting.
The last job was to get the long saw out and cut out two large thick trunks of the old Viburnum that were leaning forward because of heavy top growth and blocking the way through the bottom path. There's more than plenty bottom growth for this year..

Here’s the next gripping instalment of my garden tidy up :)
Today i was checking out the pots at the bottom of the garden. Crocuses and hyacinths were coming through so have moved them to a position where they can be seen.

                      4165ECB3-ABCB-4FC5-8222-4C3098E15709.jpeg D5D8AD31-AE0C-4720-A918-B932E06CC8B2.jpeg

Cleaned out and refilled all my bird feeders. Need to get some fat blocks.

Then weeded the gravel areas at the front.

They were full of small weeds, which because of the gravel were only shallow rooted so satisfying to pull out. Still took ages to get them all.

Spent some time pondering what to do with this bit of the bottom garden

it’s a fair bit higher than the rest of the garden as I’ve used it to bury rubble from an old stone pond. I’ve tried sowing with wild flowers but without success grateful for any ideas :)

The rain finally stopped to make way for a lovely afternoon. After sorting out a poorly fern I finish planting out ALL the Bellis not one single one left...finally.

Checked over and tidied up the Heuchera cuttings that I took last year.

I was really happy :hapydancsmil: to see the Iris that I had dug up ( well chopped really!!)from my parents garden last summer look to have survived my manhandling of them and are showing signs of life. IMG_20210203_164509_hdr.jpg IMG_20210203_164338_hdr.jpg IMG_20210203_164413_hdr.jpg
Sorry...it's a bit like being a proud parent and boring everyone with endless photos of
the kids.:heehee: But these little shoots have made my day.:glad:

@Loofah I thought about doing that but I added drainage in etc when i first planted it. I bet because the ground is so heavy clay there that it has just made a pool around the roots. Easier just to stick it in the raised borders.

Didn't do any weeding today. But worked in the greenhouse moving stuff about and sown rudbeckia - one tray and one set of cells.

My sweet peas i planted i did in November are rubbish. Only one has sprouted. I'm wondering if the greenhouse is too warm?! Do they need a "cold spell" to set them off?

Thanks @Logan. They're nothing special in themselves, the 'special ' bit is because my Mum had originally planted them years and years ago. :imphrt:
