There is a lot of tree trimming going on around these parts. A work colleague of mine is also a tree surgeon. He says that the council have left it longer than usual and were now trying to catch up.

I also noticed them in our garden but they're already in full bloom :rolleyespink: Must have been the warm sunshine yesterday. I'll post a piccy on what's looking good. :blue thumb:

you'll need to keep a sharp eye out for seedlings. We took ours down over 20 years ago and still get dozens of seedlings appearing

@shiney I pull up lots every year along with field maple and ivy seedlings. A relaxing way to spend time when I'm feeling lazy.

Nothing outside, but I planted some Black Sweet Peas in a pot and prepared 18 peat discs to use tomorrow ... will ponder in the interim what to put in them. I am too impatient to wait to put them directly in the ground. :rolleyespink:

Seriously rubbish weather here, I got drenched when nipping into the garage 5 steps away to get a bag of compost and some expanded pebble things. Ran out of the pebbly things and had to make another trip. :wallbanging:

Anyways, I finally managed to do some houseplant re-potting, including the tree basil that is already completely out of hands. I grew it from seeds last spring and the monster has survived the winter just fine and is now 1.5m tall with a lot of new growth.

I decided to braid the stems, breaking much of the side and top growth whilst on it, and filled the room with the scent. It is definitely an aromatic plant, no wonder it's used as insect repellent in it's native tropics.

It now looks like a bunch of cut nettles wilting on top of the compost heap, but I'm convinced it'll become a magnificent plant in the end. :)

I was doing the repotting next to the Degus' playpen during their free period, and discovered that they just loved the droplets of water after I misted the plants. Lick lick lick, who wants a fancy drinking bottle when you can lick the floor? Super cute. And they are now totally convinced I'm a Degu Deity, I can even make rain at will. :heehee:

I had another amble around the garden this morning just to keep a check on things and found I had to refill the Bird Feeders again. It seems like every time I have a stroll along the borders more and more new shoots are poking out of the soil.
I have one long border in my small front garden that has 8 Lavender Bushes planted in it but I also, after finding a sack full of several hundred Tete a Tete Narcissus bulbs previously used in planting elsewhere last year, replanted them in November in the front border and they're happily showing up and promising a nice splash of colour.:hapydancsmil: Then as I headed for that Mug of Tea in the House it started to rain......now that's good timing:thumbsup::heehee:

Sadly nout, after hurting my bad knee.
I had all the compost prepared and warming up ready to sow a couple more trays too.

Couldn't even manage a bit of indoor sowing using the Ziploc bags either. So frustrating hate sitting around ,especially in the daytime.:frown::sad:

Not anything. Too cold, ground frozen and nothing inside even needed watering!
