Carrying on from yesterday sowing more seeds, checking overwintered plants and seeds.

Have you checked the underside of those leaves for aphids - a common problem when overwintering?

Maybe having a cat to guard the plants has something to do with it. :roflol:

I did some more pressure washing and then shifted barrow loads of compost/horse poo to the area where the Alliums had been removed and raked it in. A few dozen primroses had to be removed to get the Alliums out so they have now been planted and watered in one of our shady wild areas.

The shed needs tidying up - volunteers welcome :blue thumb:

Yep. No aphids. I've never really had a problem with them. Seems to just be oedema but hasn't really caused much of an issue.

Yes, that cat seems to have adopted us!!

Today I’ve just had a little potter - basically potted on the baby chilli plants, where required. Also the echinops needed to be separated. The mango was moved to a bigger pot, so time to stand clear!!

New long greenhouse is up! It's a 1m tall tunnel. Love it. Had to cut back a shrub to fit it in the bed. OH helped me plant out strawberries, all tucked in for now.

Tunnel is so big I think I have room for growing more than expected in it. I am considering courgettes going in there instead of in the new bed I was planning for the front garden. Wonder if I can pick up some free timber and make a very low raised bed in there... Don't want to spend any money. Might be better than just the open ground?

Going to try and get my hands on some paving slabs to lay in the middle for my chilli pots to go on.

Assessing all my various pots and deciding what to do with them today. Window box needs new plants but will have to wait until May. Should still tidy it up though really. Just dug out two old weeds and replaced with shrubs dug up to make space for the tunnel. Strawberry planter will become mint planter. One wide based pot will be the cucumber pot. Still got about a dozen other pots though! Probably herbs and maybe treat myself to a new hydrangea.

I finally got around to taking down the balcony rail pots to inspect them for winter casulaties. I have now decided I'm going to stick to things rated for the Siberian Tundra and double check all eBay hardiness ratings

I ended up with a quite few spaces, which depressed me, so ordered a hardy geranium transversale Foundlings Friend and a blanket flower to cheer myself up. It definitely worked when I misread the geranium's name first time round and was delighted by the idea it was a cross-dresser. I've now got a "blue" pot with a black beauty geranium and a couple of dwarf columbines, a "red" pot which will have the other hardy geranium and blanket flower and one with a dichondra and two mini dianthus. I have one 30cm square pot left to fill with shortish, hardy perennial flowers, any suggestions anyone?

To finish the day off I popped a couple of dianthus into the garden back bed and then hopped around after the dog when he stole one of my shoes.

Best wishes to everyone and their gardens

No gardening as such but productive on the hard landscaping front. The shed base is pretty much finished, just needs a bit of final tweaking with the corners tomorrow to make sure it's 100% level. And managed to get two coats of paint on the outside walls, so just the internal walls and fittings to go

I hope to continue with another 45 minutes of pressure washing and then try and remake the lawn edge of the bed from which we removed the Alliums. I might get around to doing some weeding but I'll see how time goes.

@EmmaJane , obviously it's down to what you like but last year I grew these from seed and they were fab...lasted all summer long ,you could add some Babies Breath too, white and pink. I have however over wintered them in the cold frame. The ones I had in the borders I dug up and potted up ....as a test really to see if they will survive our winter...not too sure yet:fingers crossed: I have sown more for this year ...just in case.:dbgrtmb:

I did this over a few days.
I painted the green pots up.
