Took delivery of a Plaisanterie and a "Julie Andrieu" rose from Pococks Roses. Two lovely potted bushes, both in bloom. Everything we have bought from them has been of first-class quality.
"Julie Andrieu" is going where the Plaisanterie was supposed to go. I had already dug a hole but we are waiting for a half arch to arrive so we just placed the pot in the hole meantime.
I dug a hole for the Plaisanterie against the fence along the back of our shrubbery, which I filled with water, and if the weather is nice tomorrow we will plant it out.
I put hooks in the front of the shed and hung the Planter Pouch, filled with Aubretia, upon them.
I watered the rest of the hanging baskets and a couple of planters which were getting dry.

Spinal pain hurts too much today so just admiring the view from bedroom window and listening to some relaxing music.

A nice peachy colour. I sat out for about 45 minutes and did a bit of crochet indoors.

Went out this evening and spent 90 minutes giving everything a good soak with the hose.

I spent an hour or so watering all the plants on the balcony using some fertilizer I bought a few days ago.

Finished digging over the new border bed and planted 12 Lupins. I'm still waiting for the rest of my seed grown plants to mature before I plant them - a few weeks yet.

                  Picked the first sweet peas.
The birds have eaten the ripe strawberries

This morning watered the blueberries and all the other pots. Not going to do too much today it's too hot and this evening i'll get the hose out and water the front garden around the path.

Did some hedge cutting this morning and filled the water butts this afternoon.
Rest of the time running (not real running), around with the watering can.

Planted the Plaisanterie this morning. I also switched off one of my heating mats (with the potted up Delphinium and Geranium seedlings on it) as the soil temperature was 29°C.

I didn't set foot on the balcony today! :( My wife & I had to go to the eye clinic for my wife in another city so were out practically all day. When we got home we were so tired that we both snoozed a little :)

I've done three hours of work in the garden this morning, before it got too hot :rolleyespink:

I set up the sprinkler on the veg plot, trimmed the edges of all the back lawns, raked five barrow loads of willow leaves, did a wheelie bin full of weeding. :phew: I missed being supervised by Sarafi . He always used to accompany me on my early morning gardening.

I have a lot more raking to do later but that is in the completely shaded area.
